EMC Services has the skills resources required to deliver the fast, flawless
implementation of the Celerra™ NS600 into your NAS environment. Our
time-tested processes and proven methodologies enable our project delivery

Proven Methodologies
EMC’s Global Delivery Model guides all of our professional engagements and
is our methodology to ensure rapid, flawless implementation services to
every customer in every engagement whether in New York, Hong Kong, or
London. It is used to ensure that even the most finite project meets our cus-
tomers’ expectations. The effectiveness this model is a direct result of the
extensive training EMC Services delivery teams undergo.
EMC Services has developed three levels of service for the implementation of
the Celerra NS600. This service is designed for customers with relatively sim-
ple requirements and delivers a fully functioning high availability system that
is able to serve files to authenticated users in a production environment.
Celerra NS600 Basic Implementation
Implementation and Testing
The Basic Implementation service includes:
• Configuration of one Network interface for the primary Data Mover and
one network interface for the Control Station
• RAID 5 storage configuration for the first DAE; choice of RAID 5 or RAID 1
for all additional DAEs
• Configuration of one 200GB file system
• Configuration of one NFS export via Web User Interface or one CIFS share
• Integration into one authentication protocol (NIS, AD/Kerberos, or NTLM
[NT 4.0])
• Configuration of one file access protocol: NFS or CIFS
• Implementation of up to one Celerra CIFS server, validated within a single
Windows domain if necessary (Windows 2000 or NT 4.0)
• Configuration of Usermapper within a singe Domain on the Control Station
(when configuring CIFS)
• Configuration of Name Resolution Protocol for the Data Mover and Control
Station (DNS and/or WINS), as required
• Implementation of HA configuration (primary/standby)
Documentation, Functional Product Overview, and Acceptance
After installation is complete, EMC will perform a Functional Product Overview
of Celerra NS600 features with a member of the customer’s staff. This
includes an overview of additional EMC Customer Education courses avail-
able to further ensure customers receive the maximum benefit from their
investment.

In addition to the Basic Implementation, EMC offers;
• Expanded Implementation: In addition to the services performed in our
Basic Implementation, Expanded Implementation includes configuring up
to six network interfaces, 12 file systems, and SnapSure™ software.
• Custom Implementation: This is designed to meet the exact requirements
of individual customer environments. With the Custom Implementation
EMC consultants work to determine the ultimate configuration and integra-
tion of the system into your infrastructure.
