CLARIFY YOUR TASK

Enhancing a Face-To-Face or In-Person Classroom Environment for Learning
In a face-to-face classroom, students and the teacher are physically present. They meet at a time
set in the classroom. The teacher prepares activities, provides instruction and evaluates students’ learning.
Equipment and instructional materials are made available in the classroom where teaching and learning
take place most of the time.
Some advantages of a face-to-face learning environment for the students are:

 Less distraction and more concentration than when studying at home or elsewhere.
 Greater understanding and real world examples from teachers and classmates.
 Greater chance of completing course work by doing it in the classroom space.
 Learn more easily and more comfortably in familiar, traditional classroom situation.
 Access more relevant information from teachers and classmates interactions.
 Greater opportunity to connect and socialize, network and solve problems together with
classmates and teacher.
Here are some characteristics of the face-to-face or in-person learning environment.

 Learning space is physical. Both the teacher and learner can see and hear each other from
the same contained safe place called the classroom.
 Lessons are delivered with the teacher physically facilitating. Reading assignments are
from textbooks and other resources provided or referred.
 Class meetings occur regularly on a specific time or schedule.
 Teacher leads the conversation, within a limited amount of time.
 Assessment is done face-to-face and usually during the class meeting.

As a student of this new curriculum, I believe I can employ many teaching techniques that can be
extremely beneficial and helpful in a face-to-face learning setting. I believe that using technology in the
classroom will help me engage my students and encourage them to reflect on and examine their learning.

NOTICE
Having been exposed to the traditional classrooms in your basic education, it seems that
everything is familiar. However, as teaching-learning theories evolve over time there are changes that are
taking place.
What changes have you noticed in the face-to-face classroom spaces?

ANALYZE
What do you think brought changes in the face-to-face learning environment now?
The fact that we are now integrating technology into the classroom that it offers productive learning
environments, in my opinion, explains why there are changes in the face-to-face learning environment. It
has an impact on the setup of tables and chairs. There are places that require reservations, among others.
From the changes that you identified, choose one that you can do. How will you do it?
The arrangement of the entire classroom is what I believe I can modify. Using the tools at my disposal, I
will enhance the creative atmosphere in my classroom. I believe that I should concentrate on measures
that remove distractions from the classroom that can aid in the students’ development.

Yes, without a doubt, I believe that a suitable classroom reduces distractions. The children will continue
to take in the information, and they will learn how to consider and investigate what they have learned.

WRITE ACTION RESEARCH PROMPTS

1. OBSERVE What common problem have I noticed in face-to-face learning environment?

There are distractions around.

Can I translate this problem into a question?

How to lessen a classroom's distractions?
2. REFLECT How would I solve the problem?

Consider approaches that might work, such as an icebreaker, rules for the classroom, and other
ways to grab the students’ attention.

Will it improve my teaching? YES How?

Of course, it will increase your mental flexibility and creativity, and it will also help you become
a better teacher.

3. PLAN What will I do to solve the problem? Describe briefly how you will do it?

The greatest thing you can do to catch the class’s attention and get them focused on what they
are doing in class is to establish some ground rules, dos and don’ts, attempt to think of ways
to develop ice breakers, and decide when and what you are going to do. To aid in the
completion of the students’ course work, find a peaceful area and time.

Title: The Face-to-Face Learning Environment

Describe the physical environment:

The school’s physical setting demonstrates how crucial it is to provide students with secure, hygienic,
and cozy settings in order to foster a supportive learning environment. It evaluates the condition of the
school’s physical building, neighborhood noise, lighting, indoor air quality, and/or thermal comfort, as

Through their behaviors, emotions, values, and guiding principles, teachers convey information to
students inside the psychological environment. The majority of students go into the learning process
expecting to be motivated and supported. The psychological setting in the classroom creates an
environment that encourages the discussion of concepts, attitudes, and ideas as well as the posing of
queries and the examination of potential problems. Basically, the standard of interactions between
students, teachers, other school staff, and school leadership.

Describe the social environment:

Positive social situations encourage tolerance, generosity, and the freedom to make mistakes without
suffering negative repercussions. These accommodating learning spaces might be crucial for students
of all backgrounds.
