Now we approach to a close (finale days) of our learning expedition on the subject

Quantitative Methods, though we touch only some selected topics which are
fundamental in understanding the fundamental concepts of operations research.

I, as your course facilitator, hope that you have with you now the knowledge that will aid
you as an Information Technology enthusiast to generate effective decisions and
produce solution models that would significantly solve well-defined real-life complex
accounting/business problems or in whatever area or context it is deemed helpful.

As for your final exam, you will assume the role of a researcher whose goals are as
follows:

a.) To depict any real-world economic (small or large scale business) or field related
problem using a Linear Programming Model with the objective of either maximizing
profit or minimizing cost.

b.) To choose appropriate linear programming techniques.

c.) To come up with an optimal solution – a decision that would benefit the
business/company/people concerned given the constraints of the underlying resources.

d.) To create a narrative report which contains the background of the problem, the
formulation of the Linear Program, the results of data analysis and interpretation,
verification, and conclusion.
Narrative Report:
1. Title Page
2. Acknowledgement
3. Introduction/Background of the study (introduce your problem and its details, state
the purpose and objectives of the study)
4. Significance of the Study (Beneficiaries in the context of business)
5. Definition of Terms (define those terms which are not easy to understand).
6. Methodology (state the LP Technique used for data analysis; who are your
respondents if there is any; and data collection procedures)
7. Results and Discussion (give the interpretation of the results of data analysis)
8. Summary, Conclusion, and Recommendations
9. Appendices (Pictures of some supporting documents, the respondents, or the like, if
there is any)
This is worth 70 points of your Final Exam.

Please see the scoring rubric below.
