1. Specific Learning Outcomes:


By the end of the topic students will be able to:
 Learn the use of various punctuation marks and the use of capital letters.
 Learn to punctuate a given sentence.

2. Pedagogical Strategies (Teaching Methodology):


 To begin with the topic, the teacher talks about signs like, fullstop and question
mark and ask students if they can recall where they have seen those signs and if they
appear familiar to them.
 She then explains all the rules and guidelines of punctuations very well to them.
 Various examples to punctuate a given sentence will be explained well.

3. Group activities/experiments/hands-on-learning :
 Punctuation paper-plate:
All the students will be given a paper plate with punctuation marks on it. Teacher
asks a question and the student having the correct paper plate, lifts the plate up.

4. Interdisciplinary Linkages and infusion of Life-skills, Values, Gender sensitivity etc.


 Learning about the correct use of punctuations will merit the students to read and
understand English language properly and correctly.

5. Resources used (including ICT):


 Grammar Book.
 Worksheets.

6. Assessment items for measuring the attainment of the Learning Outcome:


 Students participation and assessment during completion of worksheest.

7. Feedback and Remedial Teaching Plan:


 Feedback is gathered based on students performance during the assessment.
 Reteaching of the particular part of the topic will be carried out to make the concept
clear.

 More emphasis will be given to slow learners.
 Additional worksheets will be provided.

9. Creating Cross-Curricular Linkages:


 Understanding punctuations will help students in reading and better understanding
of text lessons of English and EVS.

10. Special emphasis on Integrating Arts in education:


 Students are given a chance to explain their thoughts and ideas through drawing in
relation to the topic learnt.
