A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN for ENGLISH 3

Lesson Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify verb through pictures;
b. underline the verb in the given passage; and
c. apply verb through constructing sentence

b. References: Grade 3 English Textbook
c. Year Level: Grade 3
d. Materials: Visual aids, Speaker

II. Lesson Proper


A. Classroom Routine
a. Prayer
- The teacher shall request one student to lead the prayer.
b. Attendance
- The teacher shall request the secretary of the classroom to check the attendance.
c. Recapitulation
- The teacher will ask a volunteer from the students who can recap the past lesson that
they have.
- The student will narrate their past lesson regarding the kinds of clauses.
- The teacher will appreciate their answer.
d. Motivation
- The teacher will shows set of pictures and let the pupils identify if it shows an action
word.

B. Lesson Proper
a. Activity
- The teacher will let pupils identify the action word in the given song
- The students will identify the action word in the given song

b. Analysis
- The teacher will ask sort of question
What are the words that you identified?
What do you call these words that has an action?
What do you think our topic is all about?
- The students will answer according to their idea

c. Abstraction
- The teacher will discuss the lesson about verb and gives examples.
- The students will listen to the discussion.

Verb
A word that usually one of the main parts of a sentence and that expresses an
action, an occurrence, or a stage of being.
Examples :

1. President Marcos is speaking.


2. My father is driving a motorcycle.
3. My little brother is eating a banana.

d. Application
- The teacher will ask the pupils to underline the action word in the given passage.

Read the passage and find the

Today is our Molly’s birthday. We drove to her home. We
danced together. We also played a game. Molly won the
game. We were happy and clapped for her. We hugged
her and it was one of our happiest moments.

- The students will underline the action word in the given passage.

C. Evaluation
a. The teacher will let the students to construct a sentence using verb.

D. Assignment/Agreement
a. The students will study in advance about adverb.
