video, a slide deck or—for those who choose to create an analyst report for

Yaniv Konchitchki
Tenured Associate Professor; Distinguished Teaching Fellow; Faculty Director,
UC Berkeley Executive Education's Financial Technology (Fintech) Program; Faculty Director,
Center for Financial Reporting & Management, UC Berkeley Haas School of Business

Prof. Yaniv Konchitchki is a full-time tenured associate professor at UC Berkeley’s Haas. He is an expert in the
linkages between capital markets, finance, macroeconomy, financial & information systems technology, and
financial reporting. His PhD is from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (in Business Administration), as
well as he also holds a CPA license and a Masters in Science from Stanford’s Statistics Department
(in Statistics). Before receiving his PhD, he worked a number of years in the private and regulatory sectors in
roles such as an economist and a PwC’s CPA and Senior Financial Analysis Expert. He is also a military
Special Forces veteran, as a soldier and commander.

He is a founding father of Macro-Accounting, a new interdisciplinary research field that he has helped
develop, with related research widely recognized in national and international awards/honors such as through
the Notable Contributions to Accounting Literature Award and the Best Paper Award. Examples of topics his
research covers include inflation; technology/information systems; economic fluctuations & growth (i.e.,
GDP); monetary policy (including cost of capital/discount rates/interest rate dynamics); alternative data; &
national accounting.

Overall, he has vast experience from academic and practitioner perspectives. His research expertise is in
corporate financial reporting and analysis, interdisciplinary capital markets, valuation, financial technology
(Fintech) & innovation, and macroeconomics. His work focuses on the modeling and the resolution of
real-world problems with the goal of enhancing decision making, while employing tools such as
econometrics, statistical/big data analyses, and programmed algorithms.

His research was published in top-tier academic & professional journals, and he was invited to present at
several world’s top academic institutions, hedge funds, investment institutions, & national security
intelligence forums (e.g., U.S. Cyber Command).

Among honors/awards for exceptional merits, he was recognized as the recipient of the Notable Contributions
to Accounting Literature Award and the Best Paper Award — both from the American Accounting Association.
Also, as a World’s Top 40 Under 40, Bakar Faculty Fellow, Hellman Fellow for Distinguished Research
Excellence, Schwabacher Fellow, and (more than once) as Cheit Award recipient for Distinguished
Teaching Excellence (core MBA courses).

Other honor examples are Stanford’s Jaedicke Merit Award for Outstanding Academic Achievements at
Stanford, Thompson Teaching & Learning Innovation Award, Columbia University’s Research Grant, Tel Aviv

researches fintech, digital payments, credit markets, and finance and has served on the Nasdaq Economic

Steve Tadelis
Professor of Economics, Sarin Chair in Leadership and Strategy,

An expert in e-commerce and the economics of the internet, Prof. Tadelis has conducted on-site research at
Amazon and eBay and focuses his academic research on the Economics of incentives and organizations,
industrial organization, and microeconomics. He holds a BA in Economics from University of Haifa, an MSc in
Economics from Techion, and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Shachar Kariv
Benjamin N. Ward Professor of Economics, UC Berkeley Economics

An expert in economic theory, experimental economics, and behavioral economics, Prof. Kariv focuses his
research on social networks, social learning, and personal and social preferences. He has served as the
faculty director of UC Berkeley’s Experimental Social Science Laboratory, known as Xlab, and is co-founder
of Xmobile, a platform for social science research related to smartphones. He holds a BA in Economics from
Tel Aviv University, and an MA and PhD in Economics from New York University.
