The incumbent will be responsible for capacity building of communities
Job Purpose: to implement the social mobilization component under Flood
Emergency Response in line with IRP strategy.
The CM will support IRP’s WASH & Livelihoods teams in identification,
planning and implementation of project activities. Arrange meetings
with the communities regarding project interventions, recording case
studies and facilitate field missions.

Scope of the Role

 Support & conduct targeted assessments and surveys on timely basis.


 Implementation of the prepared plan accordingly on time reporting of the overall activities
being undertaken at the field level.
 Coordinate Logistics and transportation activities for distribution of the Food/Non-food Items
(FIs/NFIs) to the site.
 Identifying any gaps or shortcomings in the assessments/ distribution at the field level..
 Extend support to IRP Seasonal Programme activities

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES (Bullets Points)

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be
accountable for:

 Conduct Broad Based Community Meeting(BBCM) for Project introduction at community


level
 Formation /reactivation/strengthen of community organization (COs)/VOs and
subcommittees in the project area as per need.
 Capacity building of the community organization through orientation and in house
trainings. (CMST, LMST) etc.
 Ensure Beneficiaries Selection Procedure and understood the criteria.
 Inform the beneficiaries for distribution.
 Fill all the relevant document at the distribution.
 Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
 Identification of beneficiaries for multiple project interventions i.e. Food for work/cash
for work
 Assist Livelihood officer in identification of in-kind/Cash grants for potential
entrepreneurs.
 Ensure inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups in project interventions.
 Proper record keeping of project activities at community & office level both in soft &
hard form.
 Conduction of special days (Global hand washing day, world Toilet day etc.) & health
Hygiene sessions at community & school level.
 Conduct health & hygiene sessions with relevant male and female communities along
with distribution of hygiene kits.
 Conduct regular meeting with community organizations and ensure community
ownership in project activities.
 Provide data to maintain a regular database system of project monitoring and
evaluation.
 Provide support, data for program development.
 Conduct/facilitate filed visit for IRP staff and other stakeholders at community level
 Consult with the supervisor regarding appropriate adjustments in program design or
implementation strategies.
 Develop case studies to reflect project impacts.
 Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly work plans.
 Ensure the timely submission of activities reports.
 Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
 Perform any task assigned by supervisor as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Islamic
values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldwide vision, mission and
core values.

Essential:

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications (Bullet Points)

 Intermediate for Female while Graduation or Master Degree in social Science for Male
Candidate.
 Organizational and coordination skills.
 Ability to create, composes, edits the field record.
 Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range
of people in a multicultural community.
 Knowledge of Social Mobilization principles and procedures.
 Ability to gather data, compiles information, and prepares reports.
 Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
 Command on MS Office, use of internet and emails

Experience (Bullet Points)

 3 – 5 years field experience in national/international organizations preferably in


humanitarian project, Knowledge of sphere standards is desirable
