Introduction:

Amplifier is a basic component of all the music systems available in market. The need of this
intermediate circuitry exists so that we can hear crystal clear music from the music systems. Mini
Audio Amplifier project is a mini version of such amplifier systems. This is easy to implement
and test with the help of audio jack. The signals given by an audio transmitter device such as cell
phone through a 3.5mm audio jack cable is very low in amplitude. Such a signal if given to the
speaker, the sound output given by the speaker will be very less and might not be audible even to
a nearby person. So instead, we given the audio input to the amplifier circuitry. The amplifier
circuitry amplifies this audio signal. The amplified version of the audio input is fed to the input of
the speaker which then converts it into sound output. Audio frequency range lies in the frequency
range of 20Hz – 20KHz. The purpose of audio amplifier lies in to increase the amplitude of
signals lying in this frequency range and suppress the rest. So, the audio amplifier circuitry is
configuring in such way that it will multiply the audible range signals with a positive gain factor.

Background:

Our respectable teacher Dr. Adnan Anwar Awan gave us a task to make a project of your own
choice. We got the idea of this project while reading the course of Electronics. The basic aim of
this this course is also that we should be able to make an amplifier by own with appropriate
calculations.

Hardware Circuit:

Working:

An amplifier takes an input signal from a source, such as a laptop, turntable or CD player, and creates a
larger copy of the original signal before it's sent to the speakers. It gets the power to do this from your
mains electricity, which is sent directly to the power supply within the amplifier The transistor works like
a valve and determines the amount of current that flows through the circuit at any time. It bases that
decision on the size of the input signal from the source. That means a large signal will cause the
transistor to allow more current to flow, which in turn creates a greater amplification. The volume
control is the final bit of the puzzle, which decides how much of this current is passed through to the
speakers.

Timeline & Budget:

 We took almost 1 week to complete our project simulation and hardware. At first
day we searched about the project from internet sources like YouTube and
Google. After some basic understanding when our mind was prepared about the
aims and objectives of the project and how we must construct it. So after the
complete collection of all data, we started to make report on word and on
hardware as well.

Teamwork:

It's a collaborative effort made by individuals whose main objective is to complete a predefined
task, in the most efficient way possible. All three of us made contributions by some means in the
project. We collectively made the simulation-based report on the laptop and while making the
circuit on the hardware. We also divided the amount equally while purchasing the component for
our project. We also worked together while making hardware simulations.

Application:

There are various usages of audio amplifiers. Some of them are listed as follows:

 In the sound systems, these amplifiers are most widely used.

 In various instruments that relate to music, these amplifiers are installed.
 In the radio signals broadcasting these amplifiers are used.
 The signal transmission for long-distance communication is the most amplifiers
that are utilized.
 Consumer Electronics: Audio power amplifiers are used in almost all
consumer electronic devices ranging from microwave ovens, headphone
drivers, televisions, mobile phones and Home theatre systems to theatrical
and concert reinforcement systems.

 Industrial: Switching type power amplifiers are used for controlling most of
the industrial actuator systems like servos and DC motors.
