Children’s Day Celebrations 2019
Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th of November to commemorate the birth –anniversary of the first Prime Minister of In-
dia, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was very affectionate towards children. In this context, St. Edmund’s School never fails to
make it a memorable event for each child in the school every year. The students of the school wait desperately for this day
to see their teachers perform for them.
We began the day with short prayers by two of our teachers followed by a read-out about the significance of Children’s Day.
Next up, was a display of various traditional attires and our beautiful teachers were the models. We then had a special, rock-
ing-singing performance by our very own Principal-Br. Solomon Morris which was followed by singing of soulful songs (in
Hindi and Khasi) by our teachers. Next we had a highly entertaining skit by our teachers, accompanied not only by humour
but also a message to “embrace education.”This was followed by a breath-taking dance performance by our teachers. With
a break in between, last but not the least, we had a special show, ‘Fun-Fusion’, where our teachers took roles of some of the
famous superheroes and characters from Hollywood (and our very own-“ATMOZ”) movies. It was a spectacular show and to
see our teachers dress like superheroes was just awe-inspiring.
Our teachers are truly superheroes. Each year, we get to witness how amazingly talented all our teachers are, beyond the
academic arena also. We thank them for making it such a memorable day that we shall never forget in our lifetime.
