THE BARBARY DEER

"Protect the Barbary deer or you won't see it alive again!"

The Barbary deer, also known as the Atlas
deer or stag, is a mammal that lives in North
Africa in the Atlas forests. It is smaller than
the European red deer and has a dark brown
color with white spots on its back and flanks.
The male Barbary deer has antlers. These
deer are herbivores, which means they eat
plants. They weigh between 100 and 250
kilograms and have a lifespan of 10 to 14
years. Unfortunately, the Barbary deer is a
threatened species. They face many
dangers, including hunting, forest fires, the construction of roads and residential areas,
traffic accidents, and deforestation. It's important for us to protect these amazing animals
and their habitat to ensure their survival for future generations.
