IV Day1

The document is a daily lesson log for a Grade 2 mathematics class on telling and writing time in minutes including a.m. and p.m. using analog and digital clocks. The lesson objectives are to have students tell time in minutes including a.m. and p.m. using analog and digital clocks and write the time shown on clocks. The teacher reviews telling time and establishes the purpose of learning to tell time. Examples are shown using toy clocks and illustrations to explain the concepts to students. Formative assessment activities have students set toy clocks to times and write times. The lesson aims to have students practically apply their new skills in daily situations and make generalizations about telling time.

Teacher Learning Area Mathematics
Teaching Date and Time Quarter Fourth
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and
remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are
I. OBJECTIVES assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content
and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly
objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of time standard measures of length,
mass and capacity and area using square- tile units.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to apply knowledge of time, standard measures of length,
weight, and capacity, and area using square- tile units in mathematical problems
and real- life situations.
Learning Competency: Tells and writes time in minutes including a.m. and p.m.
using analog and digital clocks. (M2ME-IVa-5)
Objectives:
C. Learning Competencies/ 1. Tell the time in minutes including a.m. and p.m. using analog and digital
Objectives clocks.
2. Write the time in minutes including a.m. and p.m. shown on the analog
and digital clocks.
3. Practice going to school on time.
II. CONTENT Measurement (Telling and writing time in minutes including a.m. and p.m. using
analog and digital clocks.)

III. LEARNING RESOURCES teacher’s guide, learner’s module

Resource (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Model of an analog clock, toy clock with movable hands, chart for time- related
Resources activities
These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that
pupils/students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students
which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
IV. PROCEDURES pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice the learning, question their learning
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and
previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
A. Review previous lesson Present chart with printed faces of the clock.
or presenting the new Ask the pupils to look at the faces of the clock and the time shown below each
lesson face.
Unsa na orasa?
The teacher lets the pupils realize that telling and writing time are important skills
B. Establishing a purpose
needed to understand and can be of great help in our everyday living and all our
for the lesson
day to day routine.
Present a toy clock/ model clock with movable hour and minute hands.

C. Presenting examples/ Unsa ang akong gigunitan? ( toy clock)

instances of the new Unsa ang anaa sa toy clock? ( numero 1-12 ug 2 clock hands)
niini.)
Show the illustration to the class and explain the concept of a digital clock.

takna minutos
kolon
Show a clock with the long hand pointing to 12 and the short hand pointing to 5.
Asa nagtudlo ang taas nga kamot? (12)
Asa nagtudlo ang mubo nga kamot? (5)
Unsa ang gipakita nga oras? (5:00 o 5 o’clock)

D. Discussing new concepts Ask the pupils to manipulate their clock models/ toy clocks. Let them tell or read
and practicing new skills the time as they move the hands of the clock.
#1 Now, set your time to 7 o’clock and 15 minutes.
Unsa naman orasa? ( 7:15 or 15 minutos human sa takna nga alas 7 o 15 minuto
ang nilabay sa alas 7.)
Alas siete kinse

kinse minutos human mag alas siete

Analog Digital
E. Discussing new concepts Game:Using Time Dice
and practicing new skills 1. Divide the class into 6 groups.
#2 2. Throw an improvised time dice.
3. Let the pupils set the time in their toy clocks corresponding to the time
shown on the dice.
4. The first to raise the correct time set wins the game.
The teacher processes the pupils answer.
Isulat
sa inyong papel ang hustong oras.

F. Developing mastery
(leads to formative
assessment 3) 1. 2. 3.

Pair- Shared Activity

1. The teacher distributes an activity sheet for each pair.
2. Each pair is given 2 minutes to answer it.
3. Pairs will be called to share their answers.
Clock Work
and skills in daily living

2. Unsa ka orasa matulog sa gabii? ______ P. M.

and abstractions about Kanus- a gigamit ang a.m. ug p.m. sa pagpahayag sa oras?
the lesson
A. Basaha ang oras.
papel.

1. a. 2:10 b. 4:20 c. 4:10

2. a. 7:30 b. 8:30 c. 9:30

I. Evaluating Learning

V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress. What
works? What else needs to be done to help the pupils/students learn? Identify what help your
instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant
questions.
A. No. of learners who earned 80%
of the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial lesson work?
No. of learners who have caught
up with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these
work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/ discover
which I wish to share with other
teachers
