Overview
Project Title
Role of HR Analytics in achieving high level of employee engagement and performance
at workplace.
HR has been aloof for a long time from the field of analytics. But certainly, plays a
significant role in the decision making, selection and training of the Human Capital in
the organization. The challenges which the organizations are facing is primarily not
utilizing the complete bandwidth and unleashing the hidden data for better decision
making.
In today’s challenging times knowing the Human Capital and streamlining the efforts in
the right direction would ensure in achieving high level performance standards,
employee engagement and promoting healthy work culture.
HR Analytics is an integral part of Data Analytics which builds its premise on HR tools
Project Scope
Objective of present work is to describe present business practices/issues concerning
employee satisfaction and engagement at ElasticRun and how HR Analytics can be used
to utilize the data for decision making purpose. So that efforts can be streamlined to
increase high level of employee engagement and satisfaction.
Scope of the project also revolves on unleashing the BI tools like visualizations, creating
matrix and statistical analysis to understand various patterns and variables affecting the
employee sustainability at ElasticRun.
Present work will also provide suggestions on understanding the impact of HR Analytics
on decision making and creating HR Strategies for minimizing the employee turnover
and increasing the employee engagement factor.
High-Level Requirements
Knowledge of Power BI , DAX, Mquery, Advance Excel functions, Power pivot, Basic
knowledge of statistical functions.
Laptop with Windows 10
Need to install Power- BI Desktop (Free version) / Tableau (Public)
Should have understanding on PMS practices like rating system, Performance
Improvement Plans, Learning and Development programs, Succession planning, Balance
Score Card methodology in the corporates.
Basic understanding on designing KRA’s and KPI’s
Basic knowledge on various recruitment and selection tools used for hiring – Online
tests, Job Boards, Recruitment vendors, internal references, job adverts, etc. to
understand the overall hiring costs and challenges.
Designing Questionnaire – Feedback forms – Structured interviews for understanding
the challenges in HR context for retention of the employees and achieving performance
levels.
Training programs and the learning man-days. How TNI (Training Needs identification)
is carried out. Training feedback process and overall ROI on training per employee.
Deliverables
Designing questionnaire considering the variables that impact the employee
engagement and performance level of the employees, Designing google forms for
getting responses from various respondents for detailed data analysis. Using the BI and
advance excel functionality to create co-relations, statistical models and analysis from
the responses and data gathered through research and findings.
The researcher also must complete the report at the end of the project.
And finally, should present the project in a group presentation to mentor on the
research and findings.

Assumptions
It is assumed that data would be available from various sources. There would be strong
emphasis on literature review, questionnaire, interviews (open and close ended). The
researcher would use his diligence in creating meaningful relationships from different
databases. Focus should be on HR related data and identifying different variables and its
impact on understanding employee engagement and performance levels.
Constraints
Availability of relevant data and literature. The data can be available from different
sources and might as well not be highly relevant.
Risks
Report generation depends on data characteristics, details provided by the respondents,
availability of relevant literature in a timely manner, accuracy in using the statistical
functions, co-relations, and modelling. Skills of the researcher in identifying the variables
and its impact on the data.
