Pre-lesson
1. Countries and nationalities are written on the board. Pupils are called out at random to write the nationality
beside the correct countries.

Lesson delivery
2. Pupils copy the table from textbook page 7 or they can just answer orally.
TEACHING & 3. Explain to pupils that they will listen to three descriptions and ask them to tick one of the three pictures
LEARNING based on what they hear.
ACTIVITIES 4. A listening task sheet is given out to pupils. / Pupils copy the table into their exercise books. Teacher says
the clue and pupils tick the correct answer.

Post-lesson
5. Pupils play the ‘Bomb game’. Each group is given a country name. Teacher draw lots to determine the
first group to start. For example: KOREA BOMB, KOREA BOMB, KOREA BOMB, BARAZIL BOMB. The
group that does not respond fast is disqualified.

ACTIVITIES 5. Pupils are given another empty strip of paper to write something that they have lots of.

6. The strips of papers are collected and pupils randomly take a strip. They go around the class to ask
questions and find out the owner of the strip.

5. Each pupil is given a Plickers code to conduct a reading quiz. Teacher uses these questions in Plickers.
