Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this activity, the FS student must be able to achieve the following intended learning outcomes:

1. identify the strategies used by the teacher that promotes numeracy skills, literacy skills, higher order thinking
skill;s
2. take an account on various strategies employed by the teacher; and
3. observe and categorize classroom communication strategies employed by the teacher that support learners’
maximum involvement and greater accomplishment.

LEARNING OVERVIEW:

Activity 1. focus on the pedagogical content knowledge that recognizes the importance of teachers’
mastery of content knowledge and its interconnectedness within and across curriculum areas, coupled with a
sound and critical understanding of the application of theories and principles of teaching and learning. This
activity further encompasses teachers’ ability to apply developmentally appropriate and meaningful pedagogy
grounded on content knowledge and pedagogy. It takes into account teachers’ proficiency in Mother Tongue,
Filipino and English in the teaching and learning process, as well as needed skills in the use of communication
strategies, teaching strategies, and technologies to promote high-quality learning outcomes.

Based on what we observed, there is principle that is not applied by the


teacher, this is the effective learning begins with the setting of clear and
high expectations of learning outcomes.

In the learning process, communication skill, collaborative skill, and creative thinking skill
are the skills are dramatically demonstrated by the students.

3. What did the teacher do to enhanced/developed the needed skills?

Since the subject is cookery, to develop the needed skill such as communication skill, creative
thinking skill and cooking skill, the teacher employed hands-on approach in learning wherein the
students will apply what they learn in real life situation. Furthermore, teacher let her students to
explore ideas regarding on their activity and let them maximize their resources to have a good
output.

4. What communication skills were utilized by the teacher during the teaching-learning process?

The communication skills that are utilized by the teacher during the teaching-learning
process are the following:

 Active listening. The learners are listening to the teacher while discussing, and
teacher is also listening to the insight of the students.
 Giving feedback. The teacher commend to those students who give correct answer,
and also politely correcting those students who did not get exact answer.
 Delivering clear instruction. The teacher is able to give a clear instruction to hers
students. By that, the students will be able to do finish their task without hassle.

5. Describe how the learners respond to the communication strategies of the teacher.

Based on our observation, most of the learners are paying attention and they have courage
to recite, share their ideas, and participate in the discussion. It is evident that effective
communication strategies will result to active class discussion and discovery of the lesson.

dishes.

Agreement/Assignment As the teacher stated that the students will have their practicum on the following
day and ask them to bring their needed ingredients in their egg recipes, the
agreement between teacher and her students are clear.

Answer the following questions:

Are the learning principles applied by the teacher appropriate with the nature of the learners and learning learning
conditions? Why/Why not?
Yes, because the learning principles applied by the teacher are appropriate with the learning of the learners because as what
we observed, as the lesson is engaging the students will immediately understand the value of the lesson it is easy for them to
learn and the knowledge and skills that they have learned will retain on them.

Did you observed passive learners? If yes, what might be their reasons why they are passive/silent?

Yes, during the teaching-learning processed we notice that there are passive learners. Based on our observation, our opinion
some of the passive learners are lack of motivation, fear to recite, did not read the lesson in advance, and the topic is not the
field of their interest.

Are the communication strategies used by the teacher appropriate to the level of the learners? Justify?
Yes, based on our observation, the communication strategies used by the teacher are appropriate to the level of the learners
because it is noticeable that they are engaged in the discussion and teacher are able to hooked their attention while
discussing the lesson and learners are actively participating and reciting, and able to share their ideas.

1. Among the principles of learning, which one is the most important for you? Substantiate your answer.

For me, the most important learning principles is effective learning begins with the setting of clear and high
expectations of learning outcomes, because setting attainable objectives will determine the need to develop
skills/acquired knowledge for the particular topic and also for the teacher be able to know the teaching
strategies to employ.

2. What insight did you learn from the class activities that you have observed?
I learned that, a student friendly-learning and conducive environment can encourage students to be
more active in class discussion. In that way, students learned meaningful learning without stressing their
self.
In terms of teaching, I observed that learners learn more if the topic connect to real-life situation,
wherein the learners can relate there daily living in subject-matter.
