II. INTERACTION
A. Learning Activities
To better understand the Ten Commandments, the first part of the discussion will show how the Israelites
kept each commandment.
1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have any other gods beside me.
The Israelites faced many temptations to worship other gods such as nature and Baal, but the covenant
bound them to an exclusive worship of Yahweh.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
The Israelites believed that the name of a person held special importance ad power. The name represented
the person. In Scripture, whenever God gives a person important mission, He also gives that person a new
name to signify his or her new life and mission.

A. In a skit, show how you would uphold the fourth commandment in each situation below.
