Skill Level: Easy

Supplies:
 Worsted weight 4-ply yarn in Main Color (MC) and Accent Color (AC)
 5.0 mm (H-8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain the gauge
 yarn needle for weaving in ends
Gauge in hdc: 14 stitches and 12 rows = 4” (10 cm) PLEASE CHECK YOUR GAUGE
Abbreviations: ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, hdc = half double crochet
Notes
 Hat can be started with a Magic Ring or with the instructions given in Round 1
 Starting chain does NOT count as a stitch
 Each round is started in the same stitch as your starting chain
 The end of each round is joined by slip stitching in the first hdc of the round, not the starting chain

Round 1: With MC - Ch 2, make 8 hdc in the 2nd chain from hook, join in first hdc (8)
Round 2: Ch 1, make 2 hdc in each stitch around, join (16)
Round 3: Ch 1, *hdc in first stitch, make 2 hdc in next stitch* repeat around, join (24)
Round 4: Ch 1, *hdc in first 2 stitches, make 2 hdc in next stitch* repeat around, join (32)

 Instructions for Bow

For Baby and Toddler sizes:

Round 1: With AC - Ch 23, hdc in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch across, sl st in first hdc to form a circle (22)
Round 2 - 4: Ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, join (22)
Fasten off, leaving a lengthy tail. Use the tail to wrap the center of the bow. Secure the end and use it for attaching
to the hat along the accent colored stripe.

For Child and Adult sizes:

Round 1: With AC - Ch 26, hdc in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch across, sl st in first hdc to form a circle (25)
Round 2 - 5: Ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, join (25)
Fasten off, leaving a lengthy tail. Use the tail to wrap the center of the bow. Secure the end and use it for attaching
to the hat along the accent colored stripe.
