First of All, congratulations on The World Immunology Day 2023. Ladies and
gentlemen, on behalf of the rector Universitas Airlangga, Prof Dr. Mohammad
Nasih, it is my great pleasure and honor to extend a long welcome to all to the
second International Conference of Immunology Study Program with this year's
conference theme on the understanding immuno-oncology, enhancing
opportunity to improve cancer treatment. This conference will serve as a
platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and also exploring new
frontiers in immuno-oncology research and innovation. This conference marks a
significant milestone in our collective pursuit of advancing the field of immuno-
oncology.

The theme of immuno-oncology holds tremendous potential and revolutionizes


cancer treatment, offering also new hope and possibilities to patients worldwide.
By comprehending the intricate interaction between the immune system and
cancer, we can explore novel strategies. Of course to enhance the therapeutic
outcomes and ultimately improve the lives of those effectively by devastating
this disease.

Ladies and gentlemen as the data from the global burden of Cancer study by the
WHO, recorded a total of nearly 400,000 cancer total cases in Indonesia by the
2020 data. With a total of more than 200,000 death cases. Therefore; as a higher
education institution, our role is to provide a stepping stone to address the
challenges by applying our expertise and knowledge over decade. To find and
develop the solution which we do through education, research, Innovation, and
community services and development. Universities must make various efforts of
course to adapt and at the same time make a real contribution to the society
facing the situation. Universitas Airlangga takes pride in hosting this prestigious
gathering bringing together expert scholars and professionals from diverse
backgrounds.

We firmly believe that through this collective effort, we can foster


interdisciplinary collaboration, share best practices, and drive scientific
innovation in immuno-oncology research. Over the course of this conference,
you will have the privilege to engage with distinguished experts, leading
researchers, and practitioners in the field of immuno-oncology from around the
nation and also from around the globe. The diverse perspectives experiences
and expertise will undoubtedly enrich your understanding and inspire
innovative approaches to address the challenges we face in the health science

Ladies and gentlemen allow me to express my deepest gratitude to our


distinguished speaker who has previously accepted our invitation to share their
expertise and insight your presence and contributions will undoubtedly enrich
our understanding of immuno-oncology and also inspired us to frost ahead our
research. To the participants, your active engagement and presence today
signify your commitment to pursue knowledge and dedication to make a
difference in divide against the cancer. I am sure that this conference provide a
platform for fruitful discussion, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas that
will shape the future treatment of the immunology and oncology approach.

Lastly allow me to express my heartfelt appreciation to the organizing


committee, Prof Theresia and her team who involve for their tireless effort in
making this conference into reality. Your commitment and hard work have
ensured that we have a successful event that will leave a lasting impact in the
field of immuno-oncology. Also an appreciation to the graduate school,
Professor Rudi, and the team. Once again I encourage you to actively participate
in this section engage in vibrant discussion and build lasting connections
throughout this discussion. Together let’s use this opportunity to enhance the
understanding of immuno-oncology and work through improving cancer
treatment worldwide. The active participation and cooperation of the participant
who has gathered here today will be very meaningful. Not only for Universitas
Airlangga but as well as for the global community. So thank you and I wish you
all a productive and rewarding conference.

open the symposium and the workshop for the immuno-oncology conference
