DAILY LESSON LOG OF STEM_PC11T-IIc-1 (Week Three-Day One)
School LILOY NHS Grade Level Grade 11
Teacher EDITHO L. SALARDA Learning Area Precalculus Teaching Date and Time Quarter Second Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are I. OBJECTIVES assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides. A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of the key concepts of circular functions, trigonometric identities, inverse trigonometric functions, and the polar coordinate system. B. Performance Standards The learner is able to formulate and solve accurately situational problems involving circular functions. Learning Competency: Determine the domain and range of the different circular functions (STEM_PC11T-IIc-1) C. Learning Competencies/ Learning Objectives: Objectives 1. Determine the domain of sine, cosine and tangent function. 2. Determine the range of sine, cosine and tangent function. 3. Manifest cooperative learning in finding the domain and range of sine, cosine and tangent function. II.CONTENT Trigonometry III. LEARNING RESOURCES teacher’s guide, learner’s module A. References 1. Teacher’s Guide Pages 144-163 2. Learner’s Materials Pages 144-160 3. Textbook pages 4. Additional Materials from Learning Resource (LR) portal B. Other Learning Resources These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that pupils/students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing IV. PROCEDURES pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice the learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step. A. Review previous lesson Recall the concept of domain and range. or presenting the new lesson B. Establishing a purpose The teacher lets the students realize that determining the domain and range of for the lesson circular functions are essential in sketching their graph. Individual Activity Let the students complete the table below.
Function Angle Linear Function Angle Linear
C. Presenting examples/ Measure Measure Measure Measure instances of the new (θ) (θ) lesson sin θ 30ᵒ cos θ 30ᵒ sin θ 45ᵒ cos θ 45ᵒ sin θ 60ᵒ cos θ 60ᵒ sin θ 90ᵒ cos θ 90ᵒ 1. In the previous activity, which values refers to the domain and range of the D. Discussing new A. Sine function (Domain: angle measures, Range: linear measure) concepts and practicing B. Cosine function(Domain: angle measures, Range: linear measure) new skills #1 2. Is it the same to tangent functions? Yes Since for a real number x, sin x = sin θ for an angle θ with measure x degrees, and E. Discussing new that sin θ is the second coordinate of the point P(θ) on the unit circle. Since each x concepts and practicing corresponds to an angle θ, we can conclude that new skills #2 1. sin x is defined for any real number x or the domain of the sine function is R, and 2. the range of sine is the set of all real numbers between -1 and 1 (inclusive). Group Activity. Divide the class into 6 groups. Each group is tasked to create a table of values of F. Developing mastery their assigned function from 0 to 2 π . (leads to formative Group 1 & 4 – sine function assessment 3) Group 2 & 5 – cosine function Group 3 & 6 – tangent function The following questions will be raised to each group and to the class. G. Finding practical 1. Is your assigned function defined to all real numbers of x? If not, give the applications of concepts interval. and skills in daily living 2. Is your assigned function defined to all real numbers of y? If not, give the interval. Complete the table below by writing the domain and range of every function. (answers should be in interval notation) H. Making generalizations and abstractions about FUNCTION DOMAIN RANGE the lesson y = sinx y = cosx y = tanx Create a table of values from 0 to 2 π of the functions below. 1. y = sin2x I. Evaluating Learning 2. y = 3 sinx 3. y = tan2x 4. y = 2 cosx J. Additional activities or remediation V. REMARKS Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress. What works? What else needs to be done to help the pupils/students learn? Identify what help your VI. REFLECTION instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions. A. No. of learners who earned 80% of the evaluation B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation who scored below 80% C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners who have caught up with the lesson. D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these work? F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor can help me solve? G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/ discover which I wish to share with other teachers
