PREGUNTAS
GUÍA

1. Why English is a universal language?

Knowing another language is a necessity since in most fields and areas of knowledge it is essential.
Learning English, considered the universal language, is essential to open up in the job market.
Students and professionals from all disciplines will improve their opportunities for access and job
growth with mastery of this language. People who speak English will be able to access training and /
or job opportunities abroad, interact with all kinds of experts from other nationalities naturally and
even have better job opportunities and positions of responsibility.
In the case of Spaniards, despite understanding the scope of the benefits that can be obtained by
handling this language, training does not accompany the worldwide growth of that language. In fact,
in recent years the low command of English in Spain has surprised.
Spain is at the bottom of Europe (23) and occupies the 32 position in this world ranking, which
classifies non-English speaking countries and regions by their level of English with an average grade
of 55.85 (According to the latest EF EPI report 2018). This result supposes a level drop of 0.21 points
compared to last year (when it obtained 56.06), which shows that Spain does not improve and
continues to show a poor command of English, this means a real loss of opportunities for the Spanish
population.
Learning another language is presented as an essential aspect for our future, so don't miss the
opportunity to immerse yourself in another new language.

2. Is English becoming a universal language?

Yes, this language has become a kind of universal language of the scientific academy that allows
researchers from all over the world to share ideas, discoveries and opinions.
As Michael Gordin, a historian from Princeton University, United States, explained to the BBC, "by the
1950s, English represented about 50% of the texts published in the natural sciences (Russia ranked
second with about 20%) ".
"But it was only in the 1970s that English took off as the language of science and there was a marked
decline in Russian, French and Chinese texts to the point where today, approximately more than 90%
of elite publications of natural sciences are in English ".
Since 1880 - the date from which reliable data are available - if we analyze scientific publications, we
will see that about a third was in English, another third in French and another in German.

3. Why universal language is important?

An international auxiliary language may be the ideal for communication between groups speaking
different main languages. The importance of language is vital for the human being since it allows him
to establish communication with other living beings and thus live in community.

4. Why English is most popular language?

English is the language that companies use to operate internationally; good communication can be
the best tool to boost your internationalization.
1. IT IS THE MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD
Depending a bit on how they are counted, in addition to the roughly 400 million native speakers,
English is understood and / or spoken by 1000-1600 million people. With more than a quarter of the
world speaking the language, there is always someone to practice it with.

2. IT IS THE LANGUAGE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

With global corporate headquarters predominantly located in financial centers in the United
Kingdom and the United States, English has long been the default language for business. It could be,
in part, because English speakers aren't the first to want to learn another language and, well, you
have to find common ground with people from all over the world somehow, right?

3. MOST OF THE FILMS ARE IN ENGLISH

Hollywood is a powerhouse of global entertainment, so it stands to reason that English became the
primary language for filmmaking. Of course, movies are often dubbed, but they are best enjoyed in
the language for which they were intended.

4. IT'S EASY TO LEARN

This is debatable depending on who you speak it with, but it is generally accepted that English is not
the most difficult language to deal with. The vocabulary is easy to understand and its relationship to
many other languages means that speakers of those languages can see where concepts in English are
coming from. Which reminds me ...

5. IT IS RELATED TO MANY OTHER LANGUAGES

English has a long and fascinating history, spanning wars, invasions, and influences from around the
world. The cultures that have helped shape modern English include, among others, the Roman, the
Viking, and the French. That is why it is a hybrid language made up of Latin, Germanic and Romance
elements.
5. How is language important?

Culture is the highest creation of a people.

She expresses the peculiar way in which a town is built through time, acting in a certain setting, with
which it establishes an intimate relationship of mutual influence. Therefore, all cultures are different.
She is an extremely complex product.
They make up the culture: art, religion, utensils, myths, traditions, customs, LANGUAGE, etc.
Yes, the language. Language is a fundamental component of a culture. In it, a people expresses its
peculiar way of capturing its surrounding world and the type of relationships it has established with
that environment. In it are symbolized the situations that the human group most frequently faces in
their daily lives and that were the ones that forced the creation of a communication system. That is,
to an exchange of messages.
Every achievement or cultural conquest made by the people is present in the language. Language is
the highest expression of culture. He serves to express our joys, our sorrows, our dreams, our
frustrations; in short, all that very rich psychic world that people and peoples possess, whose content
comes from the immediate environment.
Preserving it is preserving the culture; to lose it is to lose the culture.
For language synthesizes the accumulated experience of a people and, at the same time, expresses it.
It is thanks to language that this experience is transmitted from generation to generation. Thus, the
new generations continue the creative work of their predecessors. They do not have to reinvent, but
to incorporate new inventions into the social baggage.
