a. Dr. Mini Mathew attended 7 days of FDP on Outcome-based
education and essential AI tools for Teachers -online, sponsored by
Kerala State Higher Education Council and organised by Carmel
College Thrissur.
b. A paper is published titled "Experimental investigations on the
impact of graphene-based oxides in concrete" by Teena Susan Jaa,
Mini Mathew & Soney C. George in Materials Today.
c. Department conducted a talk to the final year and pre-final year
students on the topic "Career Opportunities for Civil Engineering
Students in the Public Sector".
d. An orientation program for the first year students was conducted on
September 4th, 2023, which featured a series of sessions by Dr. Bino
I Koshy, Dr. Mini Mathew and Dr. Binu M Issac. Distinguished

alumnus, Mr. Pranav Ajith, currently a Highway Design Engineer at

Arcadis (a UK based MNC) and AJCE Jewel Award winner,

d. Kevin James Biju, Reejo Kuriakose, Sana Sulaikha, Sharon K J,
Fabeela Ali Rawther have presented a paper titled Intruder Detection
System for Video Surveillance using Machine Learning in the 9th
International Conference on Smart Computing and Communications
(ICSCC 2023) organized by Muthoot Institute of Technology and
Science, Kochi during 17-19 August, 2023(IEEE conference)
e. Aneena Tankachan, Devarsh Damodharan, Arya Shinod, Ajay Ben
Abraham, and Ms. Simy Mary Kurian received the Best Paper
Award for their work on "HydraSave: A Unique River Water
Quality Forecasting and Pollution Control System" at the IEEE
International Conference on Circuit, Power and Computing
Technologies (ICCPCT 23), which was organized by Baselios
Mathews II College of Engineering in Sasthamkotta, Kollam.
f. Dept organised a motivational talk for S7 CSE (2020-24 ) students
on 23rd August 2023 from 11AM to 1PM. Resource Person : Sajan

a. Dr. Jayasree P K attended Five Days FDP on"Recent Trends in
Exergy and Sustainability" organized by IIChE Students' Chapter,
School of Chemical Engineering, MIT Academy of Engineering,
Alandi (D), Pune, Maharashtra, India.
b. Prof (Dr) David K Daniel successfully completed the Endnote
Certification Series 23in August conducted by Clarivate.
c. Team Sun Labs (Rihas Muhammed, Krishnaprasad P, Abhijith P, Benet
Martin of S7 Chemical Engineering) secured 1st Prize & Cash award of
₹5,000/- EV Entrepreneurship/ Idea Pitching Competition - EVenture 2-
day technical conclave organized by the Industry Applications Society

a. Dr J R Anoop Raj and Ms Joselin Ann Joy coordinated the 1st
alumni meeting through online mode and selected the Alumni

a. Mr. Abubeker K M, AP ECE, has served as a programme committee
member and reviewer of the international Scopus conference PEIS
2023 held at NIT Delhi in June 2023.
b. Mr. Abubeker K M, Mr. Agi Joseph George,Ms. Reeju Elis Baby,
Ms Indu Reena Varughese, and Ms Shefeena Karim A completed a
one-week workshop on VLSI to System design organised by
AICTE, Arm education and STMicroelectronics from July 31 to
Aug. 4 2023.
c. Prof. K G Satheeshkumar, Mr. Jaison C S, Ms. Ranjitha Rajan, Ms.
Ria Maria George successfully completed a two week "Boot Camp
on Product development using Python based Embedded Control and
Rapid Prototyping Tools Registration" during 07 - 19 August 2023
conducted by AICTE Idea Lab AJCE.
d. Dr Careena P successfully completed the 8 day National Online

c. Dr. Shiju George reviewed a paper titled “Joint optimization of

g. Dr. Asha Joseph was the resource person for 6 days’ national level

h. Dr. Asha Joseph published a book chapter on " Indian Writing - A
Journey of Cultural Expression and Global Impact", in the book

i. Ms. Midhuna Jyothi R attended FDP on “Tricks and techniques for

a. Mr. Aaron Moncy Mathew (S5 MEA) received a grant of Rs 2
Lakhs from Kerala Startup Mission for the product development of
“Auto Diagnosis”.
b. Mr. Aaron Moncy Mathew was selected for the iCreate Sparkup
Fund of Rs 50,000/- by the International Centre for Entrepreneurship
and Technology.
c. Dr. J P Ajithkumar and Mr. Arun Thomas George submitted a
proposal for funding under ATAL FDP.
d. Three external students completed the CNC training program at
Advanced Machine Tools Laboratory in August 2023.
e. Six students from the Department of ME and MEA are undergoing
the Eicher Heavy-duty Vehicle training programme at our Eicher
Training centre.

College Activities / Policy Matters
a. Autonomy - HoD Help File: For incorporating autonomy related
work, an autonomy (A) field is added in the main menu of AES.
HoDs were informed of the details by Dr Fr Rubin Thottupuram.
Another session for the DQAC members was also announced.
b. Approval of the Exam Manual and BTech-MCA-MTech
Regulations for the Autonomous AJCE batch: Exam Manual and
BTech-MCA-MTech Regulations were approved in principle.
c. Approval of the Academic Calendar: The Academic Calendar for
BTech, MTech, MCA other than the First Year got approved.
Academic Calendar for the First Year (Autonomy Batch) will be
prepared separately.
d. AICERA 2023- Status - The Annual International Conference on
Emerging Research Areas (AICERA) is an annual international
conference that is technically sponsored by IEEE and will be held in our
college on November 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2023. There are approximately
250 papers that have been received, of which 170 are under plagiarism
verification and coordinated by the CS department. An intimation shall be
sent to the MEA, if any foreigners are attending the conference.
e. NAAC -Status - Revised guidelines are issued by NAAC, therefore
23.9.1-08 revisions shall be incorporated for the submitting of our AJCE
NAAC accreditation. Dr Soney C George sought the support of all
faculty members in data collection and updation.
