PROF TEBOGO MASHIFANA

Prof Tebogo Mashifana is a Senior Lecturer, Researcher, and Head of the


Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg. She
holds a Doctoral degree in Engineering, a Master of Business Administration
degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, and a certificate in
Artificial Intelligence for Industry. She is a Professional Engineering
Technologist registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. She has
published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers,
and book chapters. She has received several awards including the Vice-
Chancellor’s distinguished award for the promising young teacher of the year,
the dean’s award for the top achieving staff member in the faculty of
engineering, and the National Research Foundation (NRF) Award for Emerging
Researchers.

MR CAESER MAHLAMI

Caeser Mahlami began his academic journey as an Extended Curriculum


Program (ECP) student, demonstrating a commitment to pursuing higher
education despite potential academic challenges. He later earned a master's
degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Johannesburg.
Caeser Mahlami embarked on his professional career as a Trainee Technician
at Prima Industrial Holdings, where he likely gained valuable hands-on
experience and technical skills in a real-world industrial setting. Currently, he
holds the position of Application Engineer at Foseco SA. As an Application
Engineer, he is responsible for designing and implementing metallurgical
processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing technical support
to clients or colleagues. Overall, Caeser Mahlami's biography reflects a journey
of growth and achievement, from his early academic endeavours to his current
role as an Application Engineer, demonstrating his dedication to his field and
his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

MR. SETLOGANE “SET” MANCHIDI

Setlogane Manchidi, Investec’s current head of Corporate Social Investments (CSI) in South
Africa, was awarded an Honours degree in Social Policy and Management with distinction from
the University of Cape Town (UCT). He obtained a Master of Commerce (MCom) degree from the
University of Johannesburg (UJ). Setlogane first gained experience in the development sector
when he joined George Soros’ Open Society Foundation as a postgraduate student. Upon
graduating he worked for Accenture as an analyst and management consultant before joining
Investec as a CSI consultant in 2003. He was requested to head the CSI division in 2005.
Investec CSI, under Setlogane’s stewardship has received numerous awards and recognitions
over the years which Include the 2009 Sunday Times Top 100 CSI Leadership Award and the
2014 Mail & Guardian Investing in the Future Award for Promaths, one of Investec’ flagship
programmes. Setlogane is known in the CSI space for his passion and desire to see meaningful
change in people’s lives. In 2013 he received the DHL 2013 Rising Star Award. In the same year,
he was humbled to be added as an honorary member of the Golden Key International Honour
Society by the University of Cape Town’s Golden Key chapter. Setlogane is a true CSI
practitioner at heart and now an author of a recently published book, which can be accessed on
various platforms bookshops “Corporate Social Investment, A Guide to Creating a Meaningful
Legacy”. Setlogane continues to share his passion and message aimed at uplifting those less
fortunate than others by writing articles, giving various media interviews and responding
favourably to speaking invitations be it at schools, universities, strategic planning sessions
and/or conferences.
