DPR for widening of Coimbatore Bypass on NH-47 from Km 141/0 to Km 171/200 from existing 2 lane to 4 lane configuration in the State of Tamil Nadu.
It is appreciated that over a horizon of next 10 – 20 years, this section of road will serve as a
critical purpose of linking State of Tamil Nadu. Further a number of industries and educational
institutions are also provided connectivity from this highway thus contributing substantially towards
development of the local economy.
Government of India wants to take up capacity augmentation and up-gradation of the existing
National Highways in the state of Tamil Nadu. The work include widening from existing 2 lane to 4 lane
upgradation with enhanced safety standards to road users in order to have a better level of services.
With a view to widen the existing highway MoRTH has envisioned feasibility study and
preparation of the DPR. Geo Designs & Research (P) Ltd. (GDRPL) in association with sai geotechnical
lab has been assigned the task of feasibility study and preparation of DPR with main objectives as
follows.
1.Feasibility study.
2.Improvement and upgradation of the existing 2 lane to 4 lane configuration.
3.Financial analysis and cost estimate for the project.
4.Traffic study and location of toll plaza.

2 Request to do JMS (Joint measurement survey) by revenue department for identification of Propoer
ROW on field as there is no continuous ROW pillar stone available on filed, further more FMB map
has also deficiency for the ROW identification.
3 It is suggestion that only after ROW finalisation we can submit the DPR for approval and for proper
execution of work by EPC agency on filed.
