Syllabus
The Institute's academic year opens on 21 June 2022.

To sit exams during the 2022/23 academic year, you will need to register as a student. This can be done online
at www.shipbrokers.org.

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers' syllabus for its Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE) is designed to
examine students on a wide range of commercial shipping activity.

Compulsory subjects - group 1


These subjects are compulsory because they represent the fundamental
underpinnings of all activity within the commercial shipping industry:

Legal Principles in Shipping Business

Economics of Sea Transport & International Trade
