CAG ANNOUNCES RESULT OF NATIONAL ONLINE ESSAY CONTEST


The office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India organised a National
Online Essay Writing Competition to commemorate the occasion of Audit Diwas, which is
celebrated on 16th November every year.
The competition was open to all students aged not more than 25 years, who were enrolled in a
course of study at any institution recognized by any University in India. It was declared open
on 16 August 2022 and was closed on 15 September 2022. Students could write on any one
of the following topics in either English or Hindi.
English:
A. The CAG: Helping India achieve Panchamrit - five nectar elements to deal with
climate change
B. The CAG: Realising the Constitution’s vision, Enlivening Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
C: CAG@2047: Imagine you are the CAG of India in year 2047. What will be your
strategy for the institution?

The competition carried attractive cash prizes of ₹30,000, ₹20,000 and ₹15,000 for the first,
second and third prize winners in each category respectively.
Students from all over the country participated enthusiastically in the competition. The
entries were evaluated in two stages by panels of experts drawn from the CAG’s
organisation. The essays were judged on originality of thought and depth of knowledge, clear
reasoning and quality of argument, critical analysis and structure and writing style.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India is pleased to declare the result of the National
Online Essay Writing Competition 2022. There are four winners in the English category. Mr.
Harsh, student of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh has won the
first prize. The second prize is shared by Mr, Ankesh from National Law University, Odisha
and Mr. Kethavath Kumar Naik, who is a student of Indian Institute of Technology,
Guwahati. The third prize has been won by Mr. Brahmbhatt Yogiraj Hiteshkumar, student of
Aditya Silver Oak Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad.
In the Hindi essay category, the winners are Mr. Sarang Mukeshbhai Patel, from Gujarat
Ayurved University who has bagged the first prize, followed by Ms. Sakshi Jain from
University of Kota and Ms. Madhuri Chandrakar from Govt. D./B Girls PG Autonomous
College Raipur Chhattisgarh, who have won the second and third prizes respectively.
The prizes are scheduled to be given away by the Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri
Jagdeep Dhankar at a ceremony to be held in the CAG’s office in New Delhi on 16
November 2022 on the occasion of Audit Diwas.
