NATURE OF BUSINESS

Valencia Polymedic General Hospital is a Level II general hospital. It is equipped with resources
and service capabilities to accommodate board-certified and eligible medical specialties,
licensed physicians, and ancillary services, in the fields of Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and
Gynecology, Surgery, and their respective subspecialties.

DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP LOCATION


Valencia Polymedic General Hospital Inc. is located in Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines. It is located
along Sayre Highway, Valencia City, Bukidnon, the exact location of Monsanto Hospital before. The
landmarks located near the hospital are the ACLC College of Bukidnon, 160 meters southeast of the
Panlibatuhan Bridge, and’270 meters north of Citra Mina. It is also located in between the Mac Amiel’s
Pharmacy and Blue Energy Fuels.

PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED
1. challenging for her to read the nurses' handwritten diagnoses
2. One of the problems that we encountered inside the Office of Medical Records is the delay of
requirements. We cannot start checking the Philhealth Benefit requirements, CSF, and Final Bill
because we are still waiting for them to be delivered to the office.
3. One of the problems that the authors encountered in the billing office is the undesirable attitude
of clients. Some of the clients want to be entertained first even if the billing staff is still
entertaining the previous clients
4. The primary challenge faced within the billing department revolves around the
miscommunication between clients and employees, particularly regarding the processing of
financial assistance.
5. The author encountered a problem during the compilation of PCSO documents that need to be
sent to Malaybalay City. She forgot to update the date of every documents, and it is important to
set the date because that will be the guide when they send their medical assistance, but later on
it was resolved.
6. The author faced a significant problem of losing a certain clinical chart.

LESSON LEARNED
1. the author became more familiar with the diagnoses, which enabled her to work independently
when encoding the ICD-Code and rechecking the patient data chart
2. The trainee learned to be resourceful in a variety of situations that require her immediate
attention and responses. The trainees learned to be more initiative in all the situation they may
faced.
3. Dealing with clients with different attitudes is important. You must have patience because they
might be angry when their needs are not being met directly
4. The authors have learned that they need to expand their explanation in order to understand to
the clients/ watchers on what are the rules in times of assistance, most especially in the situation
of the financial assistance of the city, since their status as of now is for refund, some may
understand the situation, but some may not since there are some watchers are lack of education
to understand what word refund means
5. The training helped the author to do great things accordingly to lessen the mistakes that she
might commit. Open her mind to the responsibility and not take everything personally.
6. The author learned to be mindful in double checking the documents and ensuring that
everything is complete and in order before filing them.
