Every child has their own set of talents, interests, and abilities that make them unique.
Regardless of the area of expertise, every child has something special to offer. It emphasizes
the importance of recognizing and nurturing these individual qualities to help children reach their
full potential. The movie, Every Child is Special, was about a certain child named Ishaan
Awasthi. A kid who suffering dyslexia and how with the help of an understanding teacher he
overcome it against all odds.
Every Child is Special an broader issues of an inflexible educational system that fails to
accommodate diverse learning needs. By pressuring him to perform well academically without
recognizing his learning difficulties. It is important to check first the child if they have a problems,
school problems are common for pre-teens and teenagers. They’re part of the ups and downs. It
is important to understand the cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and educational growth by
knowing your learners, so you can deliver exactly what they need. Also teachers need to first to
notice that a child might have a learning difficulties because some teacher initially fail to
recognize the child’s difficulties like Ishaan who has dyslexia faces some challenges. The lack of
awareness and understanding of learning differences and it is important of addressing such
issues within the educational system. Everyone is always learning. Everyday we are confronted
with something new and need to navigate how to handle the situation. With every learning
difficulty comes different challenges, that’s why parents and teachers can benefit from getting to
know what kind of academic and emotional support is needed. It would be my pleasure meeting
Ishaan and offer to support, encouragement and understanding to a young boy who has faced
significant educational system. Also I would ask about his personal goals and aspirations to
understand what he wants to achieve in life so that it could be more easy to him to overcome on
his learning difficulties. As a future teacher, this is a challenging task and role for us to handle
learners like Ishaan. Though it may be a hard task us teachers but when we take every step to
help them, all our efforts will be worth it. It is important for us to understand our learners are
diverse and some of them have special needs. It is our job to incorporate strategies and
methods to help our learners to better understand and the lessons in a way that will cater the
needs of every learners. As a teacher, we should put in our mind that being a teacher is a
mission not a job. What I proud and hits the most on the movie is that when Ishaan’s art
teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, helps him discover his artistic talent and realizes that Ishaan
has dyslexia. The uniqueness and potential of every child and the transformative impact of a
compassionate teacher-student relationship.
I learned a lot from the movie “Every Child is Special” in many different ways. Particularly
when a child with a disability or a particular characteristic is involved among the parents,
teachers and environment. They put a lot of effort into achieving their goal, but they also felt and
experienced a lack of support from others. Teaching should not only be done in one way, we
should use different ways to teach our students because every one of us has a unique and
special talent. It is also good to understand the needs of our students, let them free to imagine
and free to learn in their own. The end part of the movie convey a message of an acceptance,
patience and care. We future teachers to be, plays an important role to our students, the movie
serve as an eye – opener. More importantly, I discovered that a child’s skills are not defined by
how they behave. Children must receive proper discipline and fair strictness, either too little or
too much.
