A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of how word literature and other text
types serves as ways of expressing and resolving personal conflicts, also how to
use strategies in linking textual information, repairing, enhancing communication
public speaking emphasis markers in persuasive text different forms of modals and
reflexive and intensive modals.

B. Performance Standard
 The Learner demonstrate communicative competence through his/her
understanding of literature and other text types for a deeper appreciation of
Philippine culture and those of other countries.

C. Competencies
• EN10LT-Ie- 2.2.3; Determine tone, mood technique and purpose of
the author
• EN10LT -If-2.2; Explain how the elements specific to a genre
contribute to the them of a particular literary selection.
