2. How can we classify the engineering materials and what are the criteria for selection of materials for
engineering purpose?
3. Discuss the different types of interatomic bonding in solids. Compare and contrast the characteristics
of ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding, providing examples for each.
4. Find for SC, BCC, FCC effective number of atoms, relationship between atomic size and lattice
parameter and also find out atomic packing fraction for these crystal structures.
5. Explain the significance of Miller indices in crystallography. How are Miller indices used to
