‭A Genre Analysis of an Article Pregnant and Newborn Health in COVID-19‬

‭Pandemic.‬

‭Şenyuva, Irem and Bora Baysal uses the genre of the article titled, “‬‭Pregnant‬

‭and Newborn Health in COVID-19 Pandemic: Knowledge level, Attitude and‬

‭Perspective of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and Pediatricians in Turkey (A‬

‭Survey-based Study),‬‭” to persuade and inform pregnant‬‭woman to take care of‬

‭themself from all these type of diseases. Covid-19 has gotten easily sick pregnant‬

‭women and has even killed them. Not just pregnant women but also their newborn‬

‭babies have gotten the really bad disease. Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and also‬

‭Pediatricians try to investigate how to have a better perspective on taking more‬

‭care of the pregnant women and also the newborns. Covid-19 had gotten really bad‬

‭in the year 2021 even the doctors had to have really good protection when‬

‭attending a patient that had the disease.‬

‭Flores 1‬

‭Şenyuva, Irem and Bora Baysal use this article to warn many pregnant‬

‭women and their newborn babies about the cause and effect of the disease called‬

‭Covid-19. Covid-19 may lead pregnant women to many negative consequences‬

‭such as pneumonia, poor pregnancy outcomes, increased cesarean rates, low birth‬

‭weight and perinatal death in neonates. Covid-19 during the pregnancy would‬

‭increase the risk of the delivery of a preterm earlier than the 37 weeks or even be a‬

‭stillborn infant. The disease is very rapidly spreading because of the late results of‬

‭diagnosis treatment. In this case, it will be important to know the levels of the‬

‭knowledge of the healthcare professions of the Covid-19, and the approaches to the‬

‭patients. Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and Pediatricians measure the knowledge of‬

‭the Covid-19 in the pregnant women and the neonatal group that they have; their‬

‭attitude to their protective measures, and their perspective of their education.‬

‭Covid-19 can also cause pregnant women a lot of stress, anxiety, and many other‬

‭terrible side effects. Pediatricians say that once the woman gives labor and they‬

‭have Covid-19 the disease can be passed from the mother to the newborn baby.‬

‭This can cause the newborn baby to have difficulties with the respiratory rate per‬

‭minute, decreased nutrition, and dehydration.‬

‭Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and Pediatricians try to have pregnant women‬

‭and their newborn babies as safe as possible. Even the hospitals put temporary‬

‭restrictions in their place all because of the disease. Ever since the disease started‬
‭Flores 1‬

‭they increased visitor restrictions, canceling non-essentials procedures, and even‬

‭now seeing patients virtually in possible times. The OB-GYN and Pediatricians‬

‭investigated that the disease/virus first started in China in the year 2019. They also‬

‭found out it is eighty-five percent similar to the Severe Acut Respiratory Stress. To‬

‭prevent the disease eighty-four percent of the Pediatricians stated that the antenatal‬

‭steroids treatment could be applied in pregnant women due to the preterm labor.‬

‭The effects once they apply the antenatal steroids treatment would be that it can‬

‭worsen the maternal outcomes in the Covid-19, you will also have a reduction of‬

‭the fetal body and your breathing movements. Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and‬

‭Pediatricians take survey questions to prepare them taking into account the Turkish‬

‭Ministry of Health Covid-19 and Turkish Neonatal Society guidelines. If they‬

‭complete the survey questions they would include them in the study of Covid-19 in‬

‭Turkish. The response time were just set for five minutes for twenty-two questions.‬

‭As said in the article about the survey, “Age, academic degree, and duration of the‬

‭profession were investigated in the first three questions of the questionnaire, the‬

‭level of knowledge about the clinic and treatment of Covid-19 in the next 14‬

‭questions, attitude to protective measures, perspective of education and‬

‭medicolegal issues in the last five questions. The questions were open-ended and‬

‭designed to be answered as yes or no.”‬

‭Flores 1‬

‭The article explains all about how Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and‬

‭Pediatricians try helping pregnant ladies and their newborns to prevent diseases. It‬

‭is hard for Pregnant ladies and their newborns to stop diseases from getting to‬

‭them. If they get the disease it will feel like the flu and will have more difficulties‬

‭when they are about to give labor, that is why doctors want to prevent that from‬

‭happening. How the article explains the cause and effects of the diseases they have‬

‭all around them it will be hard protecting them from those diseases. It is important‬

‭to go to your doctor and take your newborn babies to their Pediatricians to check‬

‭them at least every month. They will give you advice on how to take care of‬

‭yourself and your newborn babies.‬

‭In conclusion, the argument of Senyua and Baysal’s article is persuasive‬

‭because it prevents pregnant women from getting any kinds of diseases such as‬

‭Covid-19. As I had said before, the article explains to them what kind of diseases‬

‭and side effects they can get, while they are pregnant or even to their newborn‬

‭babies. Obstetricians, Gynecologists and Pediatricians do not want pregnant‬

‭women going through hard stages during their pregnancy, so they try to prevent‬

‭many pregnant women from getting diseases and etc. When the Covid-19‬

‭pandemic started many pregnant ladies actually got the disease and went through‬

‭hard stages. If you feel any type of way you need to call your personal doctor for‬

‭they can check you as quickly as possible before it gets worse.‬
