R 220 = soft, R 250 = semi-hard, R 290 = hard * These dimensions are not included in GW 392 (Technical Specifications). For the same reason, they do not have a DVGW Mark. ** The maximum permissible working pressure is based on soft-tempered copper tubes with Rm = 200 N/sq mm and calculated with a safety margin of 3.5 at an operating temperature of 100C. The permissible working pressure applies only to the copper tubes, not to any connections or joints!

the patented manufacturing process

Modern tube manufacturing is a high-tech process. At KME, operations run smoothly from raw materials to distribution after all, the SANCO manufacturing process is patented. First, continuous casting provides pre-formed rounded blanks of highly refined copper. These are then heated to 950C and transformed into basic tubing by hot-pressing or oblique hot-rolling. Subsequently, tubular blanks are processed in a pilgrim rolling mill. The finished hard, semi-hard and soft-tempered tubes are then produced by multi-phase cold drawing.

SANCO tubes are the universal solution for drinking-water plumbing, central heating and solar energy applications, are usable to the very last metre and offcuts or scrap are 100 % recyclable. 08 09 To ensure consistent and professional use of SANCO products, KME offers courses for plumbers and heating/sanitation engineers, training staff, planners and architects, as well as specialist traders and sales representatives in their own training centre at the factory in Osnabrueck. Over the last few years, around 250,000 participants have been trained in the installation of SANCO products. The three-step SANCO distribution system runs smoothly too one reason for the success of the SANCO brand is to be found in the close cooperation between the company, tradesmen and wholesalers: Because SANCO has always been exclusively available from registered specialist dealers in sanitation, central heating and plumbing products. SANCO wont ever be available from a factory outlet, or in DIY Markets either. Take our word for it!

Every year, around 375,000 km of SANCO copper tubing comes off the production line. In 25 years, this makes a total length of almost 10 million kilometres. Thats an awful lot of tube! Around 6,400 trucks would be needed to transport the annual production of SANCO tubes. In 25 years that makes around 160,000 trucks fully loaded with copper tubes. All these trucks lined up nose to tail would make a convoy 3,200 km long about the distance between Berlin and Rome and back again. If you were to join together all SANCO tubes produced over the last 25 years, this single tube would be long enough to encircle the equator 25 times.
