2 Power supply
Four type Mignon alkaline-manganese batteries (LR6, AA) are needed to operate the
RIDEwatcher. These batteries are part of the scope of supplies. Instead of the
Mignon batteries you can also use NiMH batteries with a capacity of at least
2000 mAh.

Menu keys
The drivers for the USB interface are installed together with the software so that
when the computer is connected to the RIDEwatcher with a USB-A-B cable, drivers
will be automatically installed by Windows.
6 Operation
The following sections describe how the RIDEwatcher is operated. For operating the
RIDEwatcher via the optional software please refer to the operating instructions of
the software.
For turning the RIDEwatcher off, press the ON/OFF button for at least 3 seconds.
The RIDEwatcher is switched off and the display turns black. The RIDEwatcher is
turned off automatically when the batteries are low.
To prevent the RIDEwatcher from being damaged, low batteries should be replaced
as quickly as possible. If you want the data of the RIDEwatcher’s real-time clock to
be preserved, the clock should not be disconnected from the power supply for more
than 20 minutes. In switched-off condition low batteries supply the clock with power
for approx. one week. The measuring protocols stored in the RIDEwatcher are filed in
a nonvolatile storage and are retained up to 10 years even if the RIDEwatcher is
without batteries.
The RIDEwatcher is operated using the keys and the input pin which is part of the
scope of supplies.
