Comparing People places and things
This lesson will help students describe the world around them and make comparisons. This lesson is taught after the Describing Things (Adjectives) lesson as much of that lessons vocab will be recycled.
Lesson The main objective is to increase the amount of group/individual pronunciation practice in classroom (which will enable me to identify in a more specific way each student’s needs and work on it to enable them develop their listening/speaking skills). OBJECTIVES: The General objective is to reinforce their speaking and listening skills, to identify and pronounce correctly the target language and use it in a real life situation.
Knowledge: The focus in the class is on conversation in order to help improve students’ fluency and confidence when speaking in English as well as boosting their vocabulary. Skills: To develop learners’ listening and speaking skills.
L : Identifying the proper vocab in a sentence / conversation
S : - To provide fluency and accuracy practice of speaking in the context. - The use of topic related vocab in real life situation ♦ TEACHING AIDS: classe materials (CourseBook, Flash cards, interactive-board, work sheets, etc)

GAME The lesson finishes with a game which students play in two teams. Each team listens to some clues about an object and must guess what it is.
The fewer clues the
team needs to guess the object, the more points they receive (from 5 points if they know the answer after the first clue to 1 point if they need all five clues).
Game 2 Comparatives Chain Game
The aim of the game is to
make as many ‘comparative chains’ as possible. To make a chain, students must make a comparative sentence starting with the last noun of the previous sentence. for example, if the first sentence is ‘Elephants are bigger than cats.’, then the next sentence must start with ‘Cats‘ (e.g. ‘Cat’s are smarter than pigs.’)
I will give each team 2 or 3
minutes to make as many comparative chains as possible, and then change the topic (e.g. food or places or things )
