Trade Apprenticeship Training 2023-24

ELIGIBILITY:
1. Qualification:
Matriculation or equivalent examination having passed in all subjects with minimum aggregate marks of 70%
(60% for Transgender and SC/ST candidates). Must have English, Science and Mathematics as subjects in
Matriculation or Equivalent examination. (9.5 x CGPA = % Marks, if applicable)
2. Age:
The candidate must have been born between 01-Jan-2005 and 01-July-2008 including these two dates.
Transgender and Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates must have been born between 01-Jan-2004 and
01-July-2008 including these two dates.
3. Physical Fitness
• Height: 152 cm. (for girls 142 cm) • Weight: 45 Kg. (for girls 40 Kg.)
• Expansion of Chest: 5 cm • Power of Glasses ± 4.0 maximum
• Eyesight 6/6 in both eyes with
glass
• Colour Vision: Normal

6. Stipend, and Training Details:
a) The candidates on selection in Apprenticeship Training will be registered in Apprenticeship Portal and get a stipend
during training period as specified in the Apprentices Act, provided the performance and conduct is found
satisfactory.
b) Allocation of Trade and Duration of Training: Allotment of trades will be based on merit of the candidates in the
interview. The training duration will be of 2 years based on the attendance and individual module pass marks
(governed by training reference manual).
c) The Apprentices Training Programme is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 and its latest amendments.

d) On successful completion of training and being awarded the National Apprenticeship Certificate on
clearing the All India Trade Test (AITT), if appointed, the candidate can be placed at any location of Tata
Steel Ltd or it’s subsidiary or any of the group companies of Tata Steel Ltd.
e) During their training period, the out-station candidates will be provided free hostel accommodation with food (at
subsidized rates)

6. IMPORTANT DATES
On-line application will be open from 06-Jan-2024 to 17-Jan-2024.
Admit Card will be released on 08-February-2024.
Centre Based Written Test will be conducted on 14-February-2024.

8. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
a. Last date of submission of online Application: 17-Jan-2024.
b. No hard copy of document to be submitted. All required documents to be attached in the online application, in
absence of which the application may be rejected.
c. The candidate needs to pay the required charges as quoted in the advertisement (Rs. 500/-) to be eligible for taking
the assessment. Please make the payment through Online Payment Gateway in the application only.
d. Fees once paid in any case will not be refunded.
e. If found to be ineligible at any stage of the selection process or during the training, the candidate will not be
considered for apprenticeship or the training will be terminated, as the case may be.
f. All communication will be done over the registered e-mail id. Tata Steel will not be responsible in case of not receipt
any e-mail due to sync issue or wrong e-mail id.
g. Admit card can be downloaded from the examination portal. Date of releasing the admit card which will also contain
the date of examination will be communicated over the registered mail id. Delayed response in viewing the mail will
not be entertained.
h. All necessary documents will be verified on the day of interview in case of selection in the written test.
9. SELECTION PROCESS:
• Selection will be done based on Centre Based Online Written Test followed by Personal Interview and Medical
Examination.
• Women, Trans persons, and ST/SC candidates are encouraged to apply.
• CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL AUTOMATICALY DISQUALIFY THE CANDIDATE
