ABSTRACT

PASCUAL,JANETH G. (2022). Efficacy of aloe vera extract (Aleo barbadensis)

as Root Enhancer in Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus undatus) Cuttings as Influence
by Different time of soaking. BSA Thesis. College of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Adviser: JOHN BERNARD L. GALLEGO, L.Agr

This study was conducted in Purok 3, Palian Tupi, South Cotabato,

from November 1, 2022, to December 30, 2022. The experiment was carried

out using a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments replicated 4

times each. The treatments were as follows: T1 – No application; T2 – Dipping;

T3 – 6 hours of soaking/400ml of aloe vera extract per treatment; T4 – 8 hours

of soaking/400 ml of aloe vera extract per treatment; T5 – 10 hours of

soaking/400 ml of aloe vera extract per treatment.

The results of the study, based on gathered data regarding the number

of roots, length of roots, number of shoots, number of infected cuttings, and

non-infected cuttings, indicate that there is no significant difference or effect

observed between and across the treatments when using Aloe vera extracts

as a potential rooting hormone in dragon fruit cuttings.
