I want to talk about the first time I left home to start an independent life in
Hanoi. It was about 7 months ago, I received the admission notice from
the university. The next day I started to prepare everything including
clothes, living expenses, books.. and the next morning I started on my way.
My parents were both busy so I had to go alone. A week earlier, my uncle
hired me a room for 2 people, I and a friend in Bac Ninh. That day, I had to
do everything on my own, cleaning the house, shopping and cooking.. In
the evening, the first time I felt the feeling of students going away from
home. Instead of the excitement in the morning, I felt so lonely and missed
my parents terribly. I called them over 1 hour. As soon as the call ended, I
bursted into tears. This situation lasted for nearly a week, after that I got
used to independent life. Not until I had left home to start an independent
life did I realise how much my family meant to me. Now I can take care of
everything myself and my parents don't need to worry too much about
anything. I think this is one of the most memorable memories of my life.
Whatever you are, you have a career dream to work in the future. So was I. My
wish is to become an accountant. It really is a fascinating profession. I chose this
profession because I like the numbers, I want to be calculated with the numbers
every day. To be able to select courses of accounting is also the passionate,
passionate about the numbers and all the patience. Accounting work requires
performing different tasks, such as: tax strategy, financial reporting, mapping
out plans, calculating costs, measuring financial performance, …
Now, my topic is talk about the special occasions in vn or in the world and
I would like to talk about Mid-autumn festival, also known as Tet Trung
Thu which is one of the most important holidays in Vietnam. Although it
originated in China and is celebrated in many Asian countries, the
Vietnamese version is a little bit different. The tale is about a man named
Cuội living on the Moon, but just by accident. It is said that if you look
closely at the full moon, you can see the shadow of a man sitting under a
banyan. And it is often celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the
lunar calendar with full moon at night. During the festival, children of all
ages wear colorful masks, carry candle lanterns, sing folklores and parade
on the streets. There are also those who perform lion dance to every house
in their neighbor with the hope that will bring fortune to these households.
But not only can children celebrate this day but also adults can, adults who
wish to have a chance to remind their their childhood and feel young again.
I am also influenced by her strong-will. Ever since she was young, she had
to learn to be independent as my dad were very busy and constantly on the
go. She had to take care of almost everything:. Such challenges shaped her
into the strong person that she is now.
To describe how she influenced me, I’d say it’s her parenting method that
make me become who I am at the moment. She taught me patience,
honesty and hard work brings success. I spent eightteen years living with
my parents and those virtues are our living motto until now. I am currently
living alone now but whenever I have a chance, I’ll always visit my parents
and tell them everything. My mother gives great advice.

Topic 7: Talk about your ambition/ dream you would like to achieve
Everybody always has their own dream which is an incentive for them to
work hard and to achieve success in life. I also have a big ambition that i
can get a full scholarship to go abroad.
This dream of mine appeared on my mind when i was a child. I think that
my dream of studying abroad helps me to gain more knowledge than
studying in Vietnam. Developed countries have better education than
developing countries and my parents also believe in this, so they like me to
go abroad and study because they think that i can get a valuable education.
Furthermore, i also want to change the familiar learning environment and
make friends with everyone around the world. The most important problem
is cost of education but scholarship help me to pursue my education in
abroad, so i will learn in the most effective way.. I like going to visit some
wonderful places and know more about cultures of many countries in
which i stay. I know that to achieve this dream i will have to try my best
because this ambition is not easy.
I hope that i can soon achieve this dream in the future. This ambition
followed me from my childhood therefore i won't never give it up.
You’ve asked me to describe a city that I would like to live in. And to that aim,
I’ve decided to talk about Da Lat, a small city located in the highlands of
Vietnam. Da Lat is quite far from Ho Chi Minh City, about 6 to 7 hours of
travelling by car through fruit plantations and windy mountain roads. And
because of its location in the high mountains, the city’s temperature can drop
down to 15 degrees Celsius, which is much cooler than where I am from.
Besides the atmosphere, its scenery, the spectacular waterfalls for example, also
contribute to make Da Lat one of the most famous tourist attractions in Vietnam.
Some people told me that I’m out of my mind, but it’s my life goal to own a
cosy house in Da Lat and move there permanently when I’m older. The dream
house that I have in mind will be located on a upper hill far from the centre so I
can see the beauty of the whole city. As I’ve mentioned above, the weather, the
scenery and also the culinary specialties are the reasons why I want to live in Da
Lat. Moreover, unlike Saigonese people like myself, Da Lat and its people have
a very calm and relaxed way of enjoying life. And that’s basically what we all
need when we grow older!
