2. Discuss whether this type accurately represents what you know about yourself.
Examine the four spectrums and explain your answer thoroughly. Substantiate
your agreement or disagreement with real-life behavioral examples.
The four-letter INFJ personality is said to be an advocate, it describes me well. It is somewhat
accurate in some aspects of my behaviour and outlook on certain decisions I take in my day-to-
day life. I take decisions after thinking it through and reflecting on it. INFJ is introverted,
intuitive, feeling and judging.
Introverted:
Starting with the first spectrum, I am mostly reserved and think my thoughts through before
putting them out. I like to socialize with people to make meaningful strong bonds and prefer to
keep my social circle small. I like to work in small groups where it is easier to communicate,
bond and work at a similar pace. An example of my introverted behaviour which I have noticed
often is after taking part in social events like parties, festivals or organizing events, I would
prefer to have some time alone to be in my own space which could be like next 3 to 4 days where
I have minimal interaction with others.
Intuitive:
I disagree with some aspects of this spectrum because it seems like I have some characteristics of
sensing rather than intuitive in certain areas. Even though I like creativity, change and abstract
things. I lack in creativity to make new designs. I prefer more of predictability and stability
where if there is a problem which has a concrete solution, I expect the problem to be solved at
the end. I don’t dwell what could have been if I did something in a certain way. I focus on the
here and now and am more of detail oriented. An example of this is while doing group projects, I
always keep an eye on small details which are sometimes easy to miss.

Feeling:
I seem to have some aspects thinking also along with feeling. I value fairness, logic and like to
follow more a scientific approach to things. I also have observed that I am more empathic and
understand people when they share their problems and understand their perspective to some
sense. I also have compassion, accommodate people easily and like harmony. An example of this
which I observed was after arriving in Thunder Bay, I am more willing to help my fellow
classmates or other international students in finding accommodation, understanding some of the
difficulties they face and try to see from their perspective.
Judgement:
I am a very organized individual with a definite structure to the things I do. I like plan out things
so it can be executed properly. I like to work at a steady pace and prefer to be consistent in
quality of the work I am putting out. I am a very detail-oriented person and would like decisions
to be made at the earliest and follow that through. I also think of backup plans and would make
changes to the current plans if any changes are made, or things deviate from the original plan. An
example of this is just in day-to-day activities I try to plan out the day at least roughly so that I
can focus on things like projects, assignments or even just to have some time to myself before
the day gets over.

3. During the in-class team dynamics activity – pay attention to what is said about
your personality type. Why you make a good team member – do you agree with
the in-class presentation? What can you do better to fit into a team – in other
words, who do you annoy or perhaps you distract the team members, in saying
this, how do you modify your behavior to fit better into any team dynamic.
Keeping in mind each team you participate in will be different. Create the
framework you’ll need to be successful in a team.
I would make a good team member because as people with INFJ characteristics are said to be
more cooperative, motivating others with a constructive approach and care about helping others
while geared toward the future.
Working in a group is also about negotiating and compromising in certain areas to improve
dynamics within the team to work towards the bigger goal. I can be a better fit into a team by
being paying attention to detail instead of focusing too much on the big picture and communicate
better by providing my thoughts and opinions to help others. I will have to work on keeping an
open mind, see from other’s perspectives and provide constructive criticism to help others to
improve.
4. What do you consider the strengths and the weaknesses or challenges of your
type? List your type strengths and weaknesses and again – consider how you
can adjust to ensure good team dynamics happen when you begin to form your
teams.
The strengths of INFJ types are:
To ensure good team dynamics, I must communicate my thoughts and opinions clearly to my
team and be welcoming to the diverse ideas contributed by the others of my team. I should focus
on the task at hand and only look forward to the future instead of worrying about it. I should give
honest and constructive criticism when the team or a team member requires it to better and
improve to achieve our overall objective more efficiently.
5. Evaluate and explain why this test could be a valuable tool for an employer.
The Myers-Briggs personality test could be valuable tool to employers as they can find a specific
personality type for an employee they are looking for. This test helps to filter out from the
various applicants and find the right person for the right job. For a sales job, an employer maybe
looking for a assertive person with an ENTJ personality trait or an employer looking for
candidates for accounting jobs may prefer people with INTJ personality types who are more
analytical.
6. Analyze how you may use this test as a tool for promoting meaningful
interventions and or teams.
By using this test, the personality traits of a person or teams can be identified which therefore
highlights their strengths and weaknesses. These may not be concrete but will give a general idea
how the person is, and tasks can be allocated to them according to their strengths and support can
be provided where a person or team falls short. This will significantly improve unity and team
dynamics.

1. How does this information help you form your personal brand or validate or
reinforce your perception(s) of yourself?
Personal brand is who we are, how others perceive us and what characteristics we like to
show others. It is really creating an identity for yourself and to create this identity, it is
very important to discover yourself. Knowing my personality type helps to know more
about myself, thereby helping me to shape my own personal brand. The strengths and
weaknesses of my personality type helps me immensely to focus on my strengths and
reduce or be aware of my weaknesses. This also helps me project what kind of qualities,
values or beliefs I want others to perceive of me.
2. Summarize what you have learned about yourself through the in-class Team
Dynamics exercise on Monday, January 16th.
I have learned that even though I have got the personality type of INFJ, which is
introverted, intuitive, feeling and judging; I have displayed some characteristics of
sensing like preference of stability and predictability instead of intuitive. I also prefer
some characteristics like trusting logic and reasonableness of thinking mixed in with
traits of feeling. I have also learned of the strengths and weaknesses, how I can contribute
to a team, how I can be more effective for a team, how other team member might be
irritated because of my traits and who I will be irritated by.
