Introduction
The SECUR TM modular system allowed our designers to develop innovative and reliable
microprocessor based controllers.
This system assigns to peripheral co-processors the activation of related inputs and outputs. In
this application every node of the system is connected by a simple two-wire connection.
The serial communication system that is used between boards in car and in control panel is
based on a CAN (CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK). The protocol follows the ISO-IS 11898 rules for
high speed transmission (over 125 Kbit/sec), and the ISO-IS 11519-2 for low speed
transmission (up to 125 kbit/sec).
The CAN network layout is a multi-master. In other words the unit that needs to send an
information takes possess of the bus and send its message, which is received and decoded by
the receiving units. If more units need contemporarily the bus for transmission, automatically
the highest priority will be assigned.
If one of the verification gives a negative result the message will be repeated.

This is SECUR TM, a technologically advanced system.

System description
The SECUR TM system is composed by the combination of the following electronic boards:

• SEC-2Q: controller mother board. It is the base of the system, and holds:
• SEC-2EEP: the lift setting memory, where all installation parameters are stored
• SEC-2D: the user interface and programming unit
• SEC-2P: the collector for landing calls (in parallel mode only)
• SEC-2DSP: the driver for position indicators at landings (in parallel mode only)

• SEC-2S: the safety circuit supervision board

• SEC-2C: car roof board. It handles the communication between car and controller, and holds:
• SEC-2P: the collector for additional car calls (over 8 stops)

• SEC-2L: the landing node board. It handles the landing calls and signalisation, in serial mode, and holds:

Preliminary test
In order to perform the preliminary test an inspection box has to be connected to the controller, according to
following diagram.
Do not install the car top board (SEC-2C).

Referring to installation electric drawings, connect following circuits:

a) power supply – terminals M1, M2, M3 (ref. page 1)
b) motor supply – terminals M4, M5, M6 (ref. page 1)
c) brake coil supply (if traction lift) – terminals DM50, DM51 (ref. page 4)
d) valves coil supply (if hydraulic lift) – (ref. page 4)
e) temporary inspection box, by a suitable travelling cable
f) motor thermal protection (ref. page 1)
g) all the ground/earth connections to all devices
h) bridge out connection related to non existing devices (ref. page 3)
i) remove wire between P4/1 – P4/4 on controller board (SEC-2Q), and replace it at the end of the preliminary
test

Following verifications has to be performed:

a) check all supply voltages
b) check that controller display shows “RESCUE DRIVE”
c) check that safety circuit led’s on board SEC-2S (SUPPLY, SHAFT, CAR , SWING DOORS, CAR DOORS, LOCKS) are lit.

ATTENTION
After the preliminary test is finished, restore all
connection to the original condition, checking
carefully the safety circuit.

Insulation test instruction

Preliminary operation:
• Insulation test have to be performed after complete and correct functional test of the lift have been made..
• Position the car between two floors and check that all doors are closed.
• Check that AM circuit breaker (on control panel) is closed.
• Switch off the mains (both power and light supply).
• Remove all yellow/green wires from earth bar, except those connected to metal parts and to earth disperser.
• Disconnect yellow/green wire from terminal 100.
• Remove connector P1 on SEC-2Q board.
• Remove connector CAL on SEC-2ABC board.
• Remove all connections from inverter (if provided).
• Remove all connections between controllers (if multiplex lift group) and perform complete test procedure on
every single lift.

Insulation measures:
By a 500V insulation tester, check resistance values between terminals according following table. Measured values
(in megaOhm) must be higher than 0.5 MΩ.

XPS-DA - Safety Module Test Instruction

When ADO (advance door open) and/or ACL (re-levelling) are provided a Safety Module (XPS-DA) is fitted inside
the controller. The safety module allows the car movement inside door zone with door open, for re-levelling or
advance door opening purpose.

In order to test the device proceed as follows:

normal function test

• keep the door open
• lower the car by the manual lowering button until IU led on SEC-2S safety circuit board switches off
• pump motor starts and car is raised until IU led lit

1st
channel fault simulation
• keep the door open
• remove wire from terminal SQ2/3 on SEC-2S board
• lower the car by the manual lowering button until IU led on SEC-2S safety circuit board switches off
• led OUTPUT on XPS-DA module switch off, and car stand witout any movement, as the ID position switch
detection is missing
• connect back wire to SQ2/3; car remains standing as the error has been registered by the XPS-DA module.
• in order to put the lift in service press the CLEAR button during 3 sec., then switch off the mains switch.

2nd channel fault simulation

• keep the door open
• remove wire from terminal SQ2/6 on SEC-2S board
• lower the car by the manual lowering button until IU led on SEC-2S safety circuit board switches off
• led OUTPUT on XPS-DA module switch off, and car stand witout any movement, as the IZ door zone
detection is missing
• connect back wire to SQ2/6; car remains standing as the error has been registered by the XPS-DA module.
• in order to put the lift in service press the CLEAR button during 3 sec., then switch off the mains switch.
