Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland
Narrator 5: Our story begins on warm summers day. Alice was happily daydreaming when
suddenly something caught her attention.
White Rabbit: I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!
Narrator 6: Alice decides to follow the rabbit into his burrow when all of a sudden she finds
herself in a curious room with a small door. She begins to turn the handle......
Doorknob: Ohhhhh!!
Doorknob: Oh, oh, it's quite all right. But you did give me quite a turn!
Doorknob: Well, one good turn deserves another! What can I do for you?
Doorknob: No, impassible. Nothing’s impossible. Why don’t you try the bottle on the table?
Doorknob: Read the directions, and directly you’ll be directed in the right direction.
Narrator 7: Alice finds a small bottle marked ‘drink me’, she picks it up and takes a sip.
Narrator 8: The drink shrinks Alice to a size small enough for her to climb through the
keyhole in the door.
Narrator 9: Alice chases the rabbit up a grassy hill where she meets two strange looking
people called Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Tweedle Dee: Why are you looking for the white rabbit?
Tweedle Dee: The Oysters were curious too, would you like to
hear their story?
Tweedle Dum: The pillows smooth and bright in the middle of the night!
Alice: I’m in such a rush, I do apologise (starts to move away)
Tweedle Dee: Well I do believe the white rabbit went that way, if you hurry, you might just
catch him (point in a direction)
Tweedle Dum: It’s been nice meeting you Alice. I hope you find the rabbit
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: Hope to see you again soon!
Narrator 10: Alice makes her way towards a large garden filled with roses, tulips, daisies,
buttercups and many more beautiful flowers.
Buttercup: Or about! And we dance too! We dance all around the trees. In the soft winds
whispering breeze.
Cheshire Cat: A Cheshire Cat. I have very long claws and a great many teeth.
Cheshire Cat: Well, that depends on where you want to get to?
Cheshire Cat: Then it really doesn't matter which way you go! But if you'd really like to
know, he went that way. (points)
Cheshire cat: The white rabbit. If you want to know where he’s going I'd ask the Mad Hatter.
In that direction lives a hatter and in that direction lives a March Hare. Visit either you like.
They are both mad. We are all mad here. I am mad. And you must be mad or you wouldn’t
come here.
Narrator 12: Alice makes her way to the house to find the
Mad Hatter having a tea party with a hare and a dormouse.
Mad Hatter: It's very rude to sit down without being invited!
Mad Hatter: Oh what a delightful child! Hah! I!m so excited, we never get compliments.
Alice: That would be very nice. I'm sorry I interrupted your birthday party
Narrator 13: Alice chases the white rabbit to a large a castle where she meets the ace and 2 of
spades. The cards were carefully painting white roses red
Ace: We planted the white roses by mistake. And the Queen. She
likes them red. We are painting the roses red now.
Two: If she sees what we say, we will lose our head. Before she
comes, we have to do our best.
White Rabbit: He...he... her majesty, the Queen of Hearts! (Queen to wave)
Queen: Hum... Who's been painting my roses red? Who dares I will cut off their heads for
that.
Ace: Your majesty! Not pink, not green, not aquamarine. Only red! Please, it's all his fault!
(points to the 2 of spades)
Two: Not me, your grace! The Ace, the Ace! Ace goes ahead,
painting the roses red. Ace dares not stop or waste a drop!
Queen: Where do you come from and where are you going?
Queen: Your way? All ways here are my ways. Off with her head!
Alice: I'm not afraid of you! Why, you're nothing but a pack of cards!
Narrator 14: The cards began to chase Alice through a tall maze when all of a sudden she
found herself waking up; her adventures in Wonderland had been nothing but a dream.
Narrator 15: Thank you for watching our play, we hope you enjoyed it.
