    INT.

    RIZAL’S ROOM – NIGHT


    Rizal lit the candle on his table, casting a dim light over
    the room. He takes out an empty book and a pen and begins
    writing.
    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Sa labanang ito, wala akong ibang
    gagamitin kundi ang aking nobela.

    EXT. HOMETOWN – DAY


    Ibarra stops walking as he looks at the town, then went to
    Maria Clara’s house. He glances up from outside and notices
    her staring at him from the window. She smiles softly while
    gently fluttering her fan.

    IBARRA
    (smiles)
    Maria Clara!

    They make a pleasant look as they go down the corridor


    together.

    INT. INSIDE THE HOUSE – DAY


    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Laban sa mga mapagmataas!

    DONA VICTORINA
    (arrogantly)
    Huwag niyo kong itulad sa inyong
    mga Indio.

    INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY


    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Sa pang-aabuso!

    Padre Salvi is beating up Crispin and Basilio while they are


    both crying and lying on the floor.
    INT. DINING ROOM - DAY
    Everyone falls silent when Padre Damaso started talking.

    PADRE DAMASO
    Akalo mo’y kung sino’t hahamakin
    ang lahat,
    Katulad ng ama niya!
    Yung ama niya na namatay sa karsel.
    (laughs)

    Ibarra frowns from anger. He stood up and approached Padre


    Damaso.
    CUT TO:

    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Mga walang puso,
    Mamamatay tao!

    Insert [MULA SA NOBELA NI DR. JOSE RIZAL]

    Ibarra takes Padre Damaso by the neck and pushes him on the
    table.

    IBARRA
    Husto na ang inyong paninirang
    puri!

    He grabs a knife and points it at the terrified guests at


    the table.
    IBARRA
    (shouts)
    Lumayo kayo kung ayaw niyong
    madamay pa!

    EXT. FOREST - NIGHT


    Sisa is distressed and crying as she goes around.
    SISA
    Nasaan na kayo? Nandito na ang
    nanay.

    She falls to the ground and digs in the dirt with her bare
    hands. She sobs as she clutches the small cloth of her
    child.

    SISA
    (shouts)
    Mga anak ko!

    INT. INSIDE IBARRA’S HOUSE - NIGHT


    Elias raises the dagger at Ibarra.

    ELIAS
    (angrily)
    Kasalanan niyo ito,
    Eibarramendia.

    EXT. FOREST – LAKE - DAY


    Elias and Ibarra ran while being pursued by the Guardia
    Civil.

    Elias (O.S.)
    Tumakas ka na bago pa mahuli ang
    lahat.

    Guardia Civil (O.S.)


    Hulihin sila!

    Elias dives into the lake, and the Guardia Civil fires their
    weapons where they saw him jump.

    IBARRA (V.O.)
    (shouts)
    Elias!
    INT. KAPITAN TIYAGO’S RESIDENCE - DAY
    Maria Clara cries in the embrace of Kapitan Tiyago.

    MARIA CLARA
    (sobs)
    Crisostomo!

    EXT – FOREST - NIGHT


    Ibarra stands in front of the burning papers and documents.

    INT. KAPITAN TIYAGO’S RESIDENCE - DAY


    Kapitan Tiyago's face is filled with sorrow as he clutches
    his fist to his forehead.

    PERSON (V.O.)
    Patay na siya!
    CUT TO:
    Padre Damaso cries in front of Maria Clara.

    PERSON (V.O.)
    Patay na si Ibarra!

    (Quick cuts of intense scenes of the story)

    BLACK SCREEN:

    INT - RIZAL’S ROOM – NIGHT


    Continuation of Rizal writing.

    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Ang sino mang makakakita pa ng
    bukang-liwayway, malugod ninyo
    siyang tanggapin, at inyong
    gunitain ang mga nabuwal sa dilim
    ng gabi!
    He stopped writing and closes the book.
    RIZAL (V.O.)
    Hindi dito nagtatapos ang labanang
    ito.

    The candle blew out.
