Content: SET RELATION

DISCUSSIONS:

1. The union of set A and set B, denoted by A∪B, is the set whose
elements are contained in either Set A or set B, or both.

2. Let A and B be sets. The intersection of the sets A and B,


denoted by A ∩ B, is the set containing those elements that
belong to both A and B.

3. The Venn Diagram shows the Shaded part of set A and set B. The
shaded part represents the union of two sets.

4. The complement of a set A, written as A’, is the set of all elements


found in the universal set, U, that are not found in set A. The
cardinality n (A’) is given by

n (A’) = n (U) – n (A) .
