develop strategies leveraging technology to achieve
them and reflect on the learning process itself to
improve learning outcomes.

What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea? I can state what a service is and an
example. I can state a good and an example.

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation: I will have the students sit at their desks with the Padlet out on their
computer. We will go through each step of the Padlet together. Once we have completed the Padlet
and the Kahoot. Based on the last question in the Padlet I will ask students to work in pairs to create
a PowerPoint explaining the difference between a good and a service.
Managing student learning: This tool could cause students to get distracted on the computers with
other sites available. Students when having discussion can sometimes get louder than normal over a
unrelated topic. To prevent behavior issues from occurring, I plan on having a chart on the board

that shows what our volume level should be at each part of the lesson. I will also incorporate time of
around 20 minutes to help each student to stay engaged and to help them stay productive with the
tasks at hand. I will also allow for students to work with pairs to allow for collaboration. This will
allow for all students to have the chance to have their ideas shared. This can help prevent blurting
out, etc. if they have time to tell others what is on their mind. I will also make a written plan of what
is expected when the begin to make their own PowerPoint. We will write the expectations on the
board prior to the students moving to their computers.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Engagement: This lesson incorporates a variety of different learning styles to meet all their needs
and to keep them engaged. This lesson has auditory, visual, as well as a hands-on application
component.
Representation: These tools can provide additional representation including translations and
enlarging text.
Action/expression: Students will have the chance to write down their ideas, share with pairs, with
the whole, and they will also have the chance to create a PowerPoint to express their ideas and
learnings.
Reflective Practice: I believe that this tool can help engage students and allow them to organize
their thoughts into one site. This can expand a student’s thinking and giving them a chance to come
up with some more examples on their own.
