The MAKO 4.4m to 6.0m Defender range of RIBS are mission specific and are used by the
most discriminating operators who demand the utmost in ruggedness and reliability.
MAKO’S Defender Ribs are built for Professional use, their hulls are reinforced to take the
maximum G forces that are applied when fully laden and powered at maximum speed. They
are simple, functional, tough, and have been designed for improvedusability.
Due to their light weights and size, the MAKO 4.4m to 6.0m Defender range of RIBS can be
used in shallow water depths, making them ideal as rapid deployment attack craft or river
patrol craft where water depth can vary dramatically. They can also be used as shipboard
boats for a variety of missions including search and rescue, law enforcement and force
protection. All the models have integral stainless steel hoisting fittings including a 4 point leg
sling and polyester webbing legs, galvanized proof loaded shackles and stainless steel master
links.
The deep V fiberglass (GRP) hull and 4-5 chamber inflatable collar combined with self righting
and jockey style seating; provides the seaworthiness, shock mitigation, stability and
maneuverability required to operate reliably and effectively in a hostile maritime
environment. The well built, reinforced hull and collar constructed system allows the Mako
Defender range to be safely launched and recovered in high sea states.

Hull/Deck:
• Fiberglass hull and deck (Black or Military Grey)
• Vinylester resin (fire retardant upgrade)

Bow/Keel mounted quick release system.
Collar:
• Five (5) to six (6) chambers.
Console/Seating:
• Console comes standard with -

Equipment:
• Below deck cable routing,
• Two (2) SS transom tie-down eyes
• Folding anchor light.
• Stainless steel recessed bow eye and two heavy-duty stainless steel transom tie-downs
• Mooring/towing – two (2) transom cleats with Tow post and bow post S/S.
• Aft frame S/S for radar and lights with ski tow point (all wiring inside frame)
•Under deck access hatch to aft hull cavity.
Bilge pumping/draining:
• High capacity deck drains fitted with scupper trunks.
•Electric bilge pump with automatic switch.
Hoisting:
• Integral S/S hoisting fittings. (4 point)
• Polyester webbing lift sling.
•Overload hoisting test
Navigation/communications:
•Navigation lights
•Electric horn
• Magnetic compass
• Standard Nav/Com package: (VHF,GPS, Radar, AIS etc… Customer specified)
• Custom Nav/Com package available
Fuel system:
• S/S or polyurethane fuel tanks – 100 Lt and up to 500 Lt (on bigger Ribs)
• Selector valves to allow either engine to be supplied from either tank.
