Introduction
The RSQ 475 A is a rigid rescue craft designed for service in the most demanding environment and
welded of profiles and plates in marine grade aluminum alloy 5083 (AlMg 4.5)
The craft is of a fully planning design with a deep V-bottom construction and competent to be safely
launched and retrieved under adverse weather and sea conditions.
The strength of the craft is sufficient to withstand all normal forces encountered under normal use of
the craft at maximum speed.

Requirements
The RSQ 475 A is designed, built and equipped to comply with the following requirements:
As per module B of European Union Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment as amended by

Propulsion details

Type : Sole mini 33

Power : 32HP
No. of cylinders : 3
Fuel type : Diesel 4 stroke
RPM : 3000
Electric equipment : 12V starter motor 2 kw, alternator 50A

The engine is coupled to a propeller via hydraulic gearbox to a stainless steel propeller shaft. The
special propeller is 4 bladed made of seawater resistant brass material. Steering is done via a hydrau-
lic driven rudder.
The engine is freshwater cooled and has a wet exhaust system which is led aft through the stern. The
exhaust system is constructed to stop water ingress during normal operation and capsize.
The engine is specially designed, manufactured and approved for use in rescue boats and have its
own approval. Air intakes to the engine room are so arranged that they will prevent water from
entering the engine room in case the boat would capsize.

Fuel system
The RSQ 475 A is equipped with 50 liters aluminum fuel tank located under deck in front of the engine
compartment,

Electrical system
The boat is equipped with a 12V electrical system in accordance with all regulations.
Two heavy-duty batteries, non-spill, equipped with isolating switch are installed in the engine com-
partment and continuously charged via a battery charger connected to shore or davit.

Searchlight
One EC/MED approved searchlight is provided located at the starboard side of the console. It is
mounted it such a way that it can be taken off and portable around the console (searchlight is still have

Compass
One EC/MED approved compass is provided and mounted on top of the console in front of the
steering wheel.

Hull & console

The hull is strengthened by a system of longitudinal bulkheads and transversal stiffeners and on the
outside of the hull there are four spray rails, two on each side of the keel.
All void compartments are pressure tested before delivery of the boat in order to make sure that the
hull is watertight. The keel is longer in the direction of the bow and give the bow an kind of so called
“Split bow” effect to give the RSQ 475 A excellent maneuvering stability.
The hull and console are painted orange RAL 2004 as a standard.

Paint system:
Hull and parts will be shot blasted to SA 2,5 and coated with 1 layer of 2-component
epoxy primer make sigma cover, dry film thickness 60-80 microns. The coating is finished with one
layer sigma, dry film thickness 60-80 microns.

Deck
The under-deck area is strengthened by means of longitudinal and transversal stiffening and bulk-
heads. The deck has been coated with a non-skid finish and is self-draining through openings aft. The
steering console is made of marine grade aluminum and as a standard provides seating on person.
The steering console gives extra protection for the helmsman and good view forward, sides and aft.
The engine room is fitted with a watertight hatch allowing good access to the top of the engine for
inspection and maintenance.

Protective fender
