Levels of Standards
Meets Standards (B grade range): Consistent demonstration of most assessment criteria and evidence
of good understanding of the subject matter

Exceeds Standards (A to A+ grade range): Advanced demonstration of all assessment criteria and
evidence of superior understanding of the subject matter, including things like:
 Demonstrates analytic or critical thinking to convey a thoughtful (data-supported) point of
view, and/or identifies insight(s) that goes beyond what to describe why–why is something
interesting or important? why did it happen? why does it help us moving forward?
 Connects the different parts so it flows together logically from start to finish
 Communication delivery is a professional quality (scannable/readable/watchable/listenable)
experience that applies best practices for the format

Inconsistent Demonstration (C grade range, and lower): Inconsistent demonstration (incorrectly done
or not done) of multiple assessment criteria and/or basic understanding of the subject matter

Basic Demonstration (D and F grade range): Not doing/demonstrating ~50% or more of the assessment
criteria…or non-demonstration by not completing/submitting the assignment.

Criteria
Think about each criterion as equally important in the overall assessment. You can’t build a house
without a foundation, walls, or a roof, right? J Same idea here, no one criterion of the assessment is
more (or less) important than another.
