1. How are you going to evaluate and monitor an advisory class? Give examples to
substantiate your response.

- The first thing I’d do to monitor and evaluate my class is to review them
before I start a new lesson. In this way, I will see if they really learned and
acquired knowledge from the last lesson we had. For example, I will ask
them questions related to the last lesson we had. Next, I will also
incorporate interactive and engaging activities to make sure that the
students will not lose interest in the lesson and to keep their focus on
learning. Then, I will insert questions during the lesson. This will help me
determine if they really understand the things I am teaching them. For
example, I will ask them questions about the topic we just discussed after
the lesson to refresh their minds on the things they just learned. Also, most
importantly, I must provide feedback. Feedback is important because it
provides commentary and helps the students see and understand what
changes they can make to improve.

2. In the context of students’ learning, in your opinion, what is the most effective strategy
for evaluating and recognizing students’ accomplishments? Why? (Support your answer
with your readings/ references)

- Evaluation and recognizing students' accomplishments and efforts in

learning is one of the most important ways of boosting students'
motivation to learn. For me, the most effective strategy in evaluating and
recognizing students' accomplishments is positive reinforcement. It is a
way of rewarding students' accomplishments and good behavior.
(Wheatley, et al, 2009) suggest that the use of positive reinforcement is a
very effective and high-impact technique to improve students' behavior.
There are various forms of positive reinforcement that you can use, like
praise, games, and materials. Positive reinforcement encourages students
to repeat the same good behavior and to continuously aim to be better and
accomplish things, and most importantly, it even motivates other students
to do the same.

3. Discuss the importance of providing constructive feedback to students to improve their

learning.

- It is important because it will help in improving the student’s performance.

Most of all, it encourages and motivates students to make an effort to
improve and make changes. Providing feedback means that you are
explaining to the student what they are doing right, and it will make sure
that they will do things accurately the next time.
