processes involve in the volcanic eruption.

Let’s do it in step-by-step process.

Step 1: Volcanic activities include the melting of

solid rocks in the mantle which became thick
molten materials called magma.

about magma? Magma is molten rock beneath the Earth's
surface.

Very good. Magma is the molten rock which lies

underneath volcanoes. It is formed at
destructive plate boundaries and is rich in
silicate.

For your information, magma has different

classification: Basaltic, andesitic and rhyolitic
magma. This classification is different from one
another based on its explosiveness and their
silica content.

Basaltic magma has the lowest silica content,

typically around 50%. It is the least explosive
type of magma due to its low viscosity. It tends
to flow more easily and form gentle, non-
explosive eruptions.

sticky a fluid is. High viscosity means the liquid

moderate silica content about 60%. It exhibits
moderate explosiveness. Its viscosity is higher
than basaltic magma, leading to more explosive
eruptions compared to basaltic magma.

Lastly, rhyolitic magma has the highest silica

content, typically over 70. It is the most
explosive type of magma due to its high
viscosity. It tends to trap gases, leading to
highly explosive eruptions with the potential for
pyroclastic flows and ash clouds.
