Quiz 2
Name: Pamela C. Manglicmot
Section: MAED-EA
Instructions: Apply what you have learned and answer the following questions. Answers
directly lifted from the powerpoint and from internet sources will be marked zero.

1. Design a professional training program which suits The New normal Education. Complete the
following components:

Pre-assessment or evaluation of teachers’ knowledge or skills:

Conduct a survey to measure the teachers’ skills, knowledge, and understanding of the New
Normal Education. The survey will include assessment about online learning tools, distance
classroom management, digital literacy and adaptation to technology.

Objectives of the program:

 To provide educators the tools they need to handle the opportunities and difficulties
brought about by the new normal in education.
 To develop the teachers’ ability to use digital tools for evaluation, content delivery,
student engagement, and lesson planning.
 To give educators the tools they need to design inclusive, dynamic online learning
environments that accommodate a range of student requirements and learning
preferences.

Specific activities in the training program:

 Orientation to Online Platforms: Introduce educators to other relevant platforms, such

as the learning management system (LMS) and video conferencing tools.
 Effective Online Teaching Strategies: Instruct educators on how to produce
multimedia, films, and interactive classes.
 Peer Learning: Peer learning circles where educators can work together, share ideas,
and resolve issues about remote instruction.

Post-assessment of the program:

Check their skills and see how well they can incorporate new methods into their instruction.
Teachers should be asked to reflect on their own learning experiences and pinpoint areas in
which they still need to improve.

Feedback for the teachers:

Make sure to give personalized comments according to how well they performed during the
training.

Acknowledge educators for their successes in adjusting to the new educational standard while
encouraging continued reflection and professional development.

2. Enumerate two issues in teacher professional development. Propose solutions on how to solve
these issues.

Issue 1: It's possible that some educators aren't driven or committed enough to take an active
part in professional development. This problem may be caused by conflicting priorities, time
limits, and large workloads of teachers.

Solution 1: Organize regular meetings, workshops, and learning communities where teachers
may share best practices, exchange ideas, and support each other's professional growth to
foster collaboration and peer learning within the school.

Issue 2: Teachers may participate in professional development activities at first, but as time goes
on and priorities change or the program seems irrelevant, their enthusiasm and involvement
may decline.

Solution 2: To keep teachers engaged and committed, implement a well-planned, continuous

professional development program with a defined timetable and objectives.

3. Explain three features of Indigenous People’s Education.

1. Culture and context – IPEd integrates indigenous knowledge, customs, and practices. It recognizes the
importance of preserving language and culture. Cultural relevance drives students’ awareness of their
heritage, experience, and association with their communities. It instills a sense of pride and self-esteem.
Learning process.
2. Holistic learning – IPEd does not limit itself to the classroom setting. It stresses social, emotional,
spiritual, and physical growth. The students are prepared for life within and beyond their community.
3. People Work Together for Learning- Learning happens outside of class at places like community
centers, old places, and outdoor areas. People in the area help plan what is learned, how the school is
run, and choices about education. This makes sure that education fits the culture, is respectful, and
shows the community's aims.

4. What are the issues concerning IP education, as an administrator, how do you propose to
resolve these issues?
Language Barrier

Issue: Most likely English is not IP pupils' first language, so learning could be challenging for them when
taught in that language.

Solution: Teach English and your native tongue in the same lessons. Educate educators in the local
languages to enhance their ability to communicate and comprehend.

Discrimination and Stereotypes

Issue: Peers and teachers may discriminate against and stereotype IP students.

Solution: Run awareness programs to encourage tolerance, cultural sensitivity, and respect. Educate
educators on how to identify and deal with bias. Encourage a welcoming and inclusive educational
climate that embraces diversity.
