The study aims to enhance the well-being and professional standard of life of account
professionals while adding overall effectiveness. Addressing this issue is pivotal for the
achievement and long-term viability of the account assiduity. The exploration aims to identify
factors contributing to job stress, estimate its goods on account professionals, and suggest
effective ways to reduce stress and promote a healthier work terrain.
Accounting is a complex profession that involves financial reporting, audit, taxation, and
analysis. It involves maintaining accurate records, analyzing data, and providing crucial
information for businesses. The demands of the field, coupled with regulatory and technological
changes, can cause significant stress for accountants. Meeting deadlines, ensuring accuracy,
managing workload fluctuations, and staying updated with accounting standards can lead to high
levels of job stress. However, workplace flexibility has become more prevalent in various
industries, including accounting. Remote work, flexible hours, and part-time employment have
been shown to positively impact employee well-being and job satisfaction.
Occupational stress is a significant concern in the accounting profession and
organizations. Studies by Friedman et al. in 1958 and Smith (1990) found that accountants'
health is negatively impacted by job stress. This stress can lead to burnout, decreased
productivity, job satisfaction, and higher turnover intentions. Other studies have also highlighted
the negative personal and organizational repercussions of job stress, including decreased
productivity, job satisfaction, and higher turnover intentions. Previous studies have explored
coping mechanisms to mitigate job stress in the accounting field, such as flexible work
arrangements and a healthy lifestyle, as suggested by Almer and Kaplan (2002) Jones et al.
(2010), and Herda and Lavelle (2012).
The study highlights the importance of understanding job stress and flexibility for
accounting practitioners' well-being, which can improve job satisfaction and productivity. This
information can guide workforce development strategies and talent retention in the local
accounting industry of City of San Jose Del Monte, thereby attracting and retaining top talent.
