real business problems.
2. Define sensitivity analysis. Discuss its application in the LPPs.
3. Discuss the utility of the concept of game theory in the business organizations?
4. Solve the following problem by “graphical technique”:

Minimize Z = 3 X1 + 5 X2
Subject to
X1 + X2 = 200
X1 ≤ 80
X2 ≥60

Where X1, X2 ≥ 0

5. Find out the initial solution by Vogels Approximation Method (VAM) and Least Cost
Method. Transportation costs per unit from different origins to different destinations
are given.

A1 19 30 50 12 7
A2 19 30 50 12 7
A3 19 30 50 12 7
Demand 5 8 7 15 35

6. In the given problem, cost to complete a specific job by a worker is given. You are
required to assign the different jobs to different worker in such a manner that total cost
is the minimum. (Given cost is in Rs.)

8. A bakery keeps stock of a popular brand of cake. Previous experience shows the daily
demand pattern for the item with associated probabilities, as given below:

Daily 0 10 20 30 40 50
demand
Probability 0.01 0.20 0.15 0.50 0.12 0.02

Use the following random numbers to simulate the demand for the next 10 days:

25, 39, 65, 76, 12, 05, 73, 89, 19, 49

Also estimate the daily average demand for the cakes on the basis of simulated data.

9. Define queue? Explain any two queuing models.

Section C (Compulsory) 20 Marks

10. A washing machine company has three major departments for manufacturing two of its
models; I and II. The monthly capacities of the departments are given as follows:

Per unit time requirement (hours)
Model I Model II Hours
available
this
month
Department I 4 2 1600
Department II 2.5 1 1200
Department III 4.5 1.5 1600

The marginal profit per unit from model I is Rs 350/- and from model II is Rs 150/-.
Assuming that the company can sell any quantity of either product due to favourable
market conditions, determine the optimum output for both the models and the highest
possible profits for this month.
