Project Title: ISKO-RIFICS (ISKO READY FOR IMAGINABLE, FUN AND IMPECCABLE
SEARCH FOR KNOWLEDGE)

II. Project Summary:
Research has always been difficult for most of the students. Most of the academic
institution view research as a high-impact educational practices to cultivate vital skills and
attitude through educational practices. This is the reasons why research and research skills
should be integrated in the classroom instruction.
The proposed project is about integration of research skills and research methods in the
performance task given in Science Classes. Each of the given performance task follow the
GRASP model by Wiggins and anchored to the performance standard of the Deped Curriculum
Guide. The project is only focus to one performance task per quarter. It is expected that the
students will submit the output at the end of each quarter.
III. Project Background:
Research and research skills plays a vital role in the academe. As it was mentioned by
Imafuku, (2015) research is not merely pursuit of academic career and advancement of
knowledge, rather it also includes aspect of learning process. This activity is a form of teaching
and learning activity in which students are actively engaged with research content, process, or
problems in the different subject. The project aims to develop a culture of research in the school
community. The project will be intended for Grade 7 until Grade 10 until such time that the
students will be equipped with the needed skills for doing their own Science Investigatory
Research. The project also aims to develop future researchers that can eventually become ready
to join competitions for Science researches.
The project basically focuses on the students’ performance task which is anchored from
the K to 12 Performance Standards and Content. Performances are crafted considering research
skills such as organizing, evaluating, observing, and using or presenting information that is
relevant to a particular topic. There are also activities that entails report writing, data collection,
and analysis of information, critical thinking, planning, and scheduling, interviewing and critical
analysis.

IV. Project Objectives:


1. To develop the culture of research among students of Francisco P. Tolentino
Integrated High School (FPTIHS).
2. To gradually equipped the students with the necessary skills needed in writing
research paper.
3. To produce research paper/ investigatory research project from the different grade
level
4. To develop creativity and critical thinking skills among the students.
